Fire and brimstone pastor John Hagee believes God will now punish the United States for approving gay marriage.

“This Supreme Court has made America the new Sodom and Gomorrah,” he added. “God will have to judge America or is going to have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.”

According to the pastor, the Bible commanded Christians to disobey laws that went against God’s will. To make his point, he compared same-sex marriage to a story in Exodus in which Pharaoh commands that all male Hebrew babies be killed at birth.

“The Bible clearly says that the Egyptian midwives gave birth to the Jewish children, defied Pharaoh by not reporting it and God blessed them for defying Pharaoh because God says thou shall not kill,” Hagee remarked. “That’s a Bible illustration of obeying the word of God over the government.”

“Whenever the state demands what God condemns, stand up against it,” he continued. “This is the standard of righteousness.”

    I believe in the old adage, “Actions speak louder than words.” I’ll believe Hagee, Cruz, Santorum, Huckabee and the others who are railing against the Supreme Ct.’s ssm ruling are serious when they organize a march on Washington over it. Until then, they’re just a bunch of lazy b*st*rds, sitting on their behinds, trying to incite others to commit acts of violence while begging for money.

    Hagee is one of those Christian conservative pundits whose perception of God appears to be one of a thin-skinned, petty, spiteful, ego-centric, malevolent, abusive, micro-managing sadistic bigot — with a regard for mankind somewhat akin to how many of them treat their wives.

    He should go back and talk to God because he has misunderstood what God said. My God is sitting in Heaven now with a smirk on his face and thinking “I created all of my children equal, and the United States came one step closer to achieving that goal last week by recognizing that gay people have just as much right to a civil union as straight people”.
