Six Arrested For Heckling Joel Osteen During Church Service
Six people were arrested at Houston’s Lakewood Church for heckling Joel Osteen while he was preaching.
The individuals are from Wells, Texas and are associated with The Church of Wells.
Casey Eaglin was at Sunday’s 11 a.m. service and just a few seats away from one of the protesters.
“He jumped up with his bible and started screaming ‘Shame on you Joel, shame on you Joel’ and Joel kind of just repeated scripture and they just escorted them out,” said Eaglin.
He added, “I was terrified for a quick second there. After the first guy, I thought oh it’s just a random heckler, but then you start seeing the second, the third.”
Lakewood Church told KHOU 11 News, a number of their volunteer ushers are also law enforcement officials. Those officials are apparently armed during the services so that they can react to anything like what happened Sunday.

Joel Osteen is worth 40 million. His mansion costs 10.5 million. He has a private jet. All tax free.
Remember. Joel Osteen loves you, the Lord and old women with social security checks.

I wonder what those people who give all that money to all those fraudster evangelists get out of giving their money?

The proverbial stairway to heaven.

I heard it was a Hairway to Steven…

“All tax free.”
He pays income tax, William. If you have information proving otherwise you should provide it to the proper authorities. If you are just making stuff up, you should become a Republican :)
William June 30th, 2015 at 00:42
Please point out the part where I talked about his income. Pay attention. I know reading is hard. I talked about his jet and home, both owned by Covenant trust. O’steen pays no taxes on his home.
Dwendt44 June 30th, 2015 at 00:50
And I bet a whole bunch that a good size portion of that ‘income’ is massaged, twisted, fudged, and squeezed so that it’s not taxed.
Creative Accounting works for tax exempt organizations as well as regular corporations.
Texas has no income tax, and pretty generous rules for tax exempt real estate.

It’s all so simple. You simply register the expensive cars, houses, aircraft, etc.. to the church and “bingo”
William June 30th, 2015 at 10:21
Actually his house is listed to Covenant trust. THEY pay the property taxes.
Um Cara June 30th, 2015 at 08:42

“Joel Osteen is worth 40 million.”
I didn’t realize none of that 40 million came from income. Where did you get that figure?
And are you now, or have you ever been, a Republican sympathizer? lol
William June 30th, 2015 at 08:58
If you put a simple question into a search engine, you can get a lot of sources.
I chose three.
Celebrity net worth
getnetworth.net
herichest.com/celebnetworth
Pick one. the internet is not just for porn.
AGAIN
I did not point out his income. I pointed pout his net worth
Reading is fun huh?

I did not point out his income. I pointed pout his net worth
Some of which came from income, yes?
Reading is fun huh?
Indeed! Sounds like you do not in fact have a source saying your number excludes net worth obtained through income. Preesh the honesty. Maybe you aren’t Republican worthy. They never admit when they were wrong.
the internet is not just for porn.
OK, now that’s just crazy talk. I know you don’t have a source for that whopper!
William June 30th, 2015 at 09:42
I listed three internet sources. In the time you spent making an ass of yourself, you could have availed yourself of those sources or any of the more than thee thousand internet addresses that popped up when I asked the question
Actually Osteen gets his income from book sales.
Again reading is fun huh?

Indeed, I’m glad I encouraged you to read enough to understand that JO does have income, and thus has indeed paid taxes building up his net worth.
Seriously, William – I get it, you were wrong. No need to continue flogging yourself over it. It’s cool that you have figured out how fun reading is, however!

I’m glad I made your day

That’s cute, given that it is you who made a small error, and after receiving some minor teasing about it , became desperate to weasel out of said error. (A simple ‘Oh yea, I forgot about the fact that he pays income tax, hundreds of thousands of dollars of property tax is paid on the home he lives in, etc…’ would have made you seem less desperate to not be Wrong. Everyone’s wrong occasionally, William. It’s.going.to.be.OK.)
If it’s important to you, I’ll declare you ‘Sir William, Seeker of Memes, Winner of Internet’
Congrats! Have a cookie. You’ve earned it!
William June 30th, 2015 at 14:20
I didn’t make a mistake, and I did not error. I did not mention his income. I mentioned his net worth, the house he lives in, and the aircraft he travels in. What I didn’t do was take the time to explain the fundamental difference between income and net worth. I feel that that should have been covered in 7th grade, but perhaps you were sick that day. and by the way he does not pay a single dime in taxes on that house he lives in.
The important thing of course is that you feel vindicated.
Um Cara June 30th, 2015 at 16:19
What I didn’t do was take the time to explain the fundamental difference between income and net worth.
You stated a bunch of stuff, some of which had been taxed, then said “All tax free”, then got all het up over some light teasing about your error (I know, I know, you weren’t wrong, lol), it was mostly an excuse to harass Republicans for making stuff up, using you as a (meant to be) friendly example. Now that I know what a sensitive guy you are, I’ll be sure not to tease you in the future. You’re a good blogger William, such a GOOD blogger. Who is a good blogger? William is a good blogger. Feel better now?
You can keep the cookie, you still earned it with all the contortions you went through! I’ll even give you an extra title, to help you get over the incredible pain you have endured… I dub thee ‘Sir William, Seeker of Memes, Winner of Internet, and Keeper of the Blue Flame‘
The important thing of course is that you feel vindicated.
Nah, I’m less wrapped up in this than you seem to think. The important thing is that you are good enough, smart enough, and gosh darn it, people like you!
by the way he does not pay a single dime in taxes on that house he lives in
Erm… Nice non sequitur, I guess. I’ll throw in the fact that he uses a lot of hair gel.
Bunya June 30th, 2015 at 09:45
I hardly think Williams is a republican sympathizer. I, however, have my doubts about you.

google: joel osteen net worth…it’s real easy.
Um Cara June 30th, 2015 at 16:21
That google search really won’t help to show what source William used to show that JO’s net worth of 40 million wasn’t created in part through income. Surely you know this?

Why were they screaming
frambley1 June 30th, 2015 at 01:28
It didn’t mention what they were protesting about. Did they not like his tie? I don’t like his tie.

Lucky for Joel it wasn’t the Church of Cut and Shoot, Texas…
Roctuna June 30th, 2015 at 07:32
Good thing one of them didn’t reach for his bible tucked into his waistband. Armed security might consider that threatening.

If anyone deserves a good heckling, it’s this snake oil salesman. Good for the heckler.
Daniel Lovejoy June 30th, 2015 at 13:54
Joel’s faith in God is so weak, his security guards need to carry weapons. He definitely doesn’t have the faith of the people he speaks of from the Bible – maybe because he knows he doesn’t practice what he preaches?
Dwendt44 June 30th, 2015 at 17:11
You’d be surprised how many clerics are actually Agnostics or Atheists. They don’t have any talent (aside from selling or scamming) that’s marketable, so they stay there pretending.
For some, like Joel, getting rich is a real plus.
