Jesse Jackson Reacts: America ‘The Most Violent Nation On Earth’

Jesse Jackson spoke with me on radio Thursday night about the tragedy in Charleston. Jackson described the murders as a “horrific, beastly act,” which took place in a setting that should be used as a sanctuary. He added that it was proof that the United States is the “most violent nation on earth,” that there is still “a toxic undercurrent” even though some progress has been made on race relations, and the suspect, Dylann Storm Roof, was “not born hateful. Somebody taught him ignorance.”

Jackson also commented on Rachel Dorezal, saying that race is more than just a social construct.

This is a shame. These African American young ladies are beautiful, it’s such a crime that they don’t think so. That is terrible.
