Multiple sources confirm that Dylann Roof, 21, has been captured in Shelby, NC, and arrested connection with the Charleston church shootings of last night.

The dragnet went out in the early morning:

He’s white, slightly built and in his early 20s — and police say he walked into a Charleston, South Carolina, church and fatally shot nine people as they attended Bible study class.

Dylann Storm Roof, 21, is now at the center of a major manhunt.

Police released a flier Thursday morning with details of the suspect in the attack on the historic African-American church as they appealed for help to track him down as quickly as possible.

“The following subject is wanted for the shooting that occured in Charleston at the Emanuel AME Church. Subject is Dylann Storm Roof w/m 4/3/1994 5’9″ 120 lbs. The subject should be driving a 2000 Hyundai Elantra GS, SC registration LGF330. The vehicle is dark-colored. Subject should be considered armed and dangerous and caution should be used if seen. “

Charleston Police Chief Gregory Mullen told a news conference that officers “have obtained surveillance videos of the suspect in this case and a suspect vehicle.”

            well, my point is that, people of color get a lot of time and i’m talking prison for pot. but, white people don’t get the same time for worse. case in point i just read an article about a white couple that stabbed their neighbor for calling the police on them for loud sex. after the police left is when they tried to kill him. as it turned out, they have been arrested more than 45 times from assault to burglary, to drugs. had they been in prison, this man would not be in a hospital fighting for his life.

      If it is a hate crime, won’t he be tried by federal court? If so, he would be up for the possibility of getting the death penalty no matter what. I do not always support the death penalty, but in this case, it is definitely called for. He murdered people because of the color of their skin in a place of worship, he deserves no leniency.

    According to the report from the local media, this guy was given a gun for a birthday present in April. In various states around the country, there are laws where the hosts of a party where alcohol is served can be held liable in civil and/or criminal court if one of their guests causes an accident due to DUI. It does not matter if the guests were of legal drinking age.

    I know the NRA acolytes will throw a fit, but seems to me we need similar laws with firearms. Who in their right minds would give a pistol as a gift to someone with a history of emotional problems as well as a criminal record?

    I know who. It would be anyone stupid enough to believe the NRA lie that the proliferation of guns makes us all safer. And you can scratch that “right mind” part.

    For the ten thousandth time, more guns do not make us safer any more so than more cars on the road make driving safer. In both examples, the result is not safety but an increased likelihood that someone will be killed or injured by someone else’s bad decision or criminal act.

    Why would a racist white supremacist support a party that also gets the support of the vast majority of African-Americans? That makes no sense.

    Dylann Roof got a lot of his ideas from the website of the Council of Conservative Citizens. Does that sound like a Democratic website to you?

    The vast majority of racists and white supremacists are conservative. A liberal racist is a contradiction in terms, since racists completely opposite from liberal ideology.

    When Ann Coulter says that she only wants immigration from white European countries, does that make her a liberal?
