D’Amato: Trump Not In It For The Long Term

Posted by | June 17, 2015 09:30 | Filed under: Politics Radio Interviews

Former New Yorker Senator Al D’Amato agreed with what we wrote here yesterday, that Donald Trump will stay in just long enough to get into a debate and likely depart in time for another season of “The Apprentice”.

COLMES: Do you think (Donald Trump) is a serious candidate?

SEN. D’AMATO: I don’t think he’s in it for the long term. Alan, I think that he’ll be counseled by his advisers, he’s a smart guy, by his family, his daughter, who is not only beautiful, Ivanka, but very bright, to say, “Daddy, You’ve got too many things going for you to leave us at this point.” So when I say leave, because that is what you would have to do if you were going to run a full blown Presidential campaign. It would be more than just a couple of political stops…

COLMES: So you don’t have a favorite? I mean you must have a sense of who the real players are in this race?

SEN. D’AMATO: Look, as far as I’m concerned, Mrs. Bush was right. When she said some time ago when she was asked about whether Jeb would run or not. And she said, I’m paraphrasing, can’t we do better in this country than the same old names? The Clintons and the Bushes? I think that people want a change. And I look at both the candidates and I see the same cast of characters surrounding them. They say they’re different, but I don’t see them being any different. And now we find that Mrs. Clinton, she’s for the little guy. Oh, really?…

SEN. D’AMATO: Let me put together a dream team, but it will never happen, but if you put a Kasich/Rubio ticket to carry two essential states, you basically win the Presidency.

Most all of the 25+ repubs are washingout, failing to make FNC’s top ten American Idiot debates.

Of course not. He’ll say stupid sh!t, IE whatever his trailer dwelling fan base wants to hear, and reap the rewards of a free publicity stunt courtesy of a PAC funded by gap toothed goobers.
The man is a walking talking parody.

Trump suffers from PD – Presidential Dysfunction. He can do the foreplay, but can’t actually perform the deed.

<-+++ my best friend's step-aunt makes $73 hourly on the laptop. She has been out of work for 7 months but last month her pay was $18355 just working on the laptop for a few hours. She actually started four months ago and pretty much immediately began to make more than $542… Every week.

As a New Yorker who never voted for Al D’Amato but knew him as a college classmate, he makes a reasonably good but quite overstated case. A Kasich-Rubio ticket would be powerful. However I think Gov. Kasich has as little chance of getting the nomination of the freak party as did Gov. Huntsman 4 years ago. John Kasich is too many things for them to stomach..a nice man personally, a rational and reasonable conservative, someone who doesn’t smear, defame and insult his opponents, someone who is not an utter pandering wing nut. His is a party that has eliminated not only all the moderates but even responsible conservatives. Barry Goldwater is turning in his grave seeing what the GOP is like today…Goldwater could not countenance these ultra right-wing freaks. We Democrats can be fairly sure that whomever they nominate is an extremist…including Bush who boasts he was the most conservative governor in the country.
