Alan, your mobile templates need some work. This and many, many other articles do not display enough info to be helpful, which would still be ok if the link to the original article showed up. But it does not on a significant number of posts, so you have to get the desktop version to load which is pretty kludgy on many mobile apps.

I was summoned and so wanted to be on the jury, it was a trial for a pedophile with multiple offenses who wanted to be released. I had to honestly say I was incapable of being objective.

When I was self employed, I was summoned for jury duty. I explained to the judge that if I served on the jury, my business would suffer because I was unavailable to fix customers air conditioners. People wanted their air conditioners fixed today, not next week. Now if I get called, I state my father in law was a past president of the Fraternal Order of Police. On a civil case, I stated that the side with the most lawyers were likely to be at fault.

I’ve been summoned for jury duty twice in my life. The first time I was in the hospital after having has surgery the day before. The second time, they wanted to serve at a court fifty miles from where I live, and I didn’t own a car. Excused, both times.
