Franklin Graham Dumps Pro-Gay Bank; New Bank Sponsor Of Gay Pride Event

Soon, there won’t be any place for an anti-gay person to do business. What a shame!

Upset that Wells Fargo is running an ad which includes the story of a lesbian couple learning sign language before adopting a child who is deaf, Franklin Graham announced last week that the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association will no longer do business with the bank…

Graham may not have done much research, as BB&T [the new bank] has received an 80 percent score in the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index and this year is the sponsor of the Miami Beach Gay Pride Parade, along with the chief sponsor of Miami Beach Gay Pride’s “Legacy Couples” program, which celebrates same-sex couples in “committed relationships of 10 years or longer.”

A bank spokesman said the company hopes to “support the individuals and organizations that broaden our perspectives and strengthen the diverse fabric of our communities. That’s why BB&T is proud to be a part of this day of pride and celebration of the 2015 Legacy Couples.”

In fact, BB&T hosted a same-sex couple’s wedding reception earlier this year “in a makeshift chapel at event sponsor BB&T Bank South Beach branch.”

Graham added that anti-LGBT Christians should also boycott Starbucks, Tiffany’s and Nike since they “promote the gay lifestyle.”

and next month F. Graham will be calling for boycotts against Red Lobster, Lobster fisher folks/Shrimpers/Clothing manufacturers that use mixed fibers – or else.

Besides – WTF is all this banking business with the ‘rapture’ at hand?

      There’s room above his shoulders.

Well since this thief can’t find a business who hates as well as he does, maybe he should just give back the millions of dollars to the poor idiots who gave it to him to begin with. He can then get a real job and maybe then he will realize that hating others is not a good business policy.

And don’t forget all the taxes he hasn’t paid.

True, so in a way he has stolen from all of us.

The same way all churches have.

When these right wing evangelistic hypocrites get wrapped around the axle over banks, they have truly strayed from Jesus and his message.

Between his job as president of the Billy Graham
Evangelistic Association and his second job as
President of Samaritan’s Purse, Franklin earns well over a million a year.

Oh no, which way is Frankie going to turn?? As old as he is, he still doesn’t understand any part of how banks operate and get business.

Ain’t christian tolerance a ‘value’ to behold?

    • Larry Schmitt June 10th, 2015 at 10:26

Since his Christianity is not real, you have to say “Christian” tolerance.

He’s afraid his account will get some of that gay money, and then he’ll have nothing but three dollar bills.

What exactly is this “gay lifestyle” these people are in such a fluster about? If it means getting along with people and enjoying nice things, and having a tastefully decorated home (I know, it’s such a cliché), who could possibly be against that?

Poor Franklin. It’s getting harder ‘n harder for televangelists to find banks that adhere to good old fashioned Christian “moral righteousness” nowadays.
