Republican Congresswoman Warns Of Christian Persecution

Posted by | May 12, 2015 18:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Religion

Tennessee Congressman Marsha Blackburn says Christians are facing persecution in the United States but, when asked, couldn’t provide an example.

“Can you be specific about the instances in which you feel that Christians are being persecuted?” a reporter inquires of Blackburn…

“You know, there have been several lately. There’ve. Um. I can’t give you a specific (pause) right off the cuff,” Blackburn shrugs. “I’m sorry.”

Then Blackburn smiles, turns away from the reporter, looks back toward the camera, and says, “Yeah. Thanks.”

By playing the victim card these adherents of Christian Dominionism can implement discriminatory laws under the precept of ‘religious freedom’. This is going down the slippery slope toward a theocracy if it’s left to fester.

      That’s a good point.
Every time something like this comes up, maybe we should start telling them to “stop using the religion card”!

It is the same mindset as demonstrated in the earlier story about Allen West and Sharia Law at Walmart. When confronted with the fact that it was state law and not Sharia which prevented the young clerk from checking out an alcohol purchase, West’s reaction was essentially, so what, I am still right.

How in the world do you reason with people whose beliefs are 100% resistant to reality?

Rep. Blackburn makes an outrageous claim, cannot back it up with a single factual example, and yet her low information constituents will ooh and aah, and thank her for telling it like it is..

    Depressing…

Why didn’t Blackburn use the great Palin “any of ’em, all of ’em” quote? It worked so well for her, right?

Notice how the biggest liars on Earth hide behind Christianity: Um. I can’t give you a specific (pause) right off the cuff,” Blackburn smiles ‘I’m going to Hell for sure now. Wicked!’ Busted again. Jesus would never have anything to do with these Xitan liars.

Funny how the Republicans have control of both houses of Congress and they still are screaming that they are the oppressed.

I bet if most of the Baptist Christians knew that the Bible was compiled by the Vatican. ThE Book WOULD not be believed as truth.

    • bpollen May 13th, 2015 at 05:04

It was compiled at the Council of Nicea. 325 AD. Under the direction of the Emperor Constantine. There was no Vatican then.

be very very careful when you say things – the facts aren’t always what you think they are.

Because those who own everything are obviously being oppressed.

As they say, the Devil is in the details … and when you dig beneath the surface, it becomes apparent that in American society, Christians have been the persecutors, not the persecuted.

Well if there was a god in the first place then I can see her point, but since there isn’t she can go screw herself.
