Todd Rundgren: Climate Deniers Use ‘Verbal Trickery’

Posted by | May 7, 2015 09:30 | Filed under: Planet Politics Radio Interviews

Todd Rundgren’s new CD, “Global”, focuses on the environment and what we must do collectively to address it. He told me it’s important to get us all involved in saving the planet. In addition to talking about his career and how he’s been on the cutting edge of musical technology,  we touched on politics. Rundgren said he campaigned years ago for John Anderson because he believed in the need for a third party, but lost interest in politics after Bush vs. Gore, proclaiming, “Democracy is dead.”

Rundgren is a very smart cookie. Besides being a great singer, song writer and producer he is spot on with his political views and the climate change issues. Democracy dead? Probably…

I no longer give much clout to rock and pop singers or Hollywood, its best to let someone who has more knowledge in the field comment on how the Earth’s weather changes, after all my home state of ND 10,000 years ago had palm tree’s,sharks, crocodiles, crabs and triceratops.

Neither a scientist or politician merit no more a right to speak their political views than someone with celebrity.

Bush v Gore was the lowest point in our democracy in my lifetime too.

If you’ve never seen Todd perform you’ve missed a master. He’s still at the top of his game after all these years.

Oncet he came on Don Kirschner or maybe it was the Midnight Special, I don’t know. He and his band performed some whiny hit they had out then, and Rundgren was wearing one of the more unusual stage outfits I’ve seen. It fit tightly, like a body stocking, but appeared to be made of some sort of transparent plastic and had a vine growing up the front that looked like it was made of chrome.
Never cared for the chap’s music, and I wouldn’t go to a musician for scientific fact, but it’s nice to have Rundgren on our side.

Saw him in Hawaii, 1978 or 79. That many years ago, it was obvious he was a master.

    1. no one is going to save the planet – it’s their selfish mindless selves they are worried about – the planet will do fine with or without homo sapiens. 2. politics in the usa is no linger a machine of, for, and by the people but a fabricated pile of merde designed to make narcissistic aholes famous for a teeny weeny period of time.
