Question For Liberaland Readers

Posted by | May 2, 2015 09:42 | Filed under: Forum

Would you be interested in a website that looked like Drudge, but with a liberal slant? He’s got a unique format, and I like the idea of seeing lots of headlines in an easy-to-read style.  I’ve wanted to do a site like that for a long time, albeit one with a bit more color, video and graphic;  but it might be perceived as unoriginal.

What say you?

I like the format you have now with the photo boxes / date / author format. Durdge looks like a wire-service print-out and, having spent many hours pouring over teletype print-out, find boring… Pix make for easy recognition of the subject at hand.

Personally I think Drudge would be easier to read and have a lot more subscribers if they would copy YOUR format.

Bring back the Daily off Topic Thread..
Other than that minor complaint from me, the site is great..
(except I wish the stories were listed in chronological order)

this IS the off-topic thread. I just don’t change it every day to give the thread more time to blossom.

I don’t do Drudge. if you can offer both and you always wanted to do something like it,
it’s your site Alan, knock yourself out. I like what you’ve done here just fine.

I do like the layout of the Drudge site.

I admit I am not a big fan of the revised layout here at alan.com

It looks too much like People Magazine for my tastes. I suppose for the sake of economics you have to keep those aggravating teases from “Around the Web” at the bottom (Ten Ugliest People in the World – click here), but I would like a more print-oriented layout similar to Drudge or the print version of the Wall St Journal.

Just please don’t ever adopt that “Around the Web” format where you have to click through numerous impossibly busy screens to see all the entries on their latest “list”.

I really like the new format. Like anything it is a change and some people resist it. I like that there are more posts shown. I might like if you had a scrolling feature with breaking news, stock market that way I can just stay on this site. In the end do what you want Alan and your die hard fans will follow.

Without having a clue what Drudge looks like, I can’t say. Nor do I intend to visit to find out. But, to paraphrase that famous showman Aleister Crowley, do what thou wilt.

Based on the stories that have originated or been copied by Drudge, I think it would be like watching Faux – the ignorance and hypocrisy will not only get my goat, it will turn it into Julienne Fries… whatever the hell they are.
