Freddie Gray Death A ‘Homicide’: MD State Atty Indicts Six Officers

Posted by | May 1, 2015 10:50 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Top Stories

10:45amEST: Maryland State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby has announced that her office has determined that the death of Freddie Gray is a “homicide”.
Six Baltimore police officers have been indicted, most on multiple charges: Lt. Brian Rice, Sgt. Alicia White, Officer William Porter, Officer Garrett Miller, Officer Edward Nero and Officer Caesar Goodson. Goodson has been charged with second-degree homicide.

Among the huge bombshells dropped in a news conference that surprised almost everybody due to the swiftness and severity of the State’s Attorney’s prosecutions were allegations by prosecutors that Gray was falsely and illegally arrested:

[Mosby] said that time and again police mistreated Mr. Gray, arresting him with no grounds, violating police procedure by putting him in cuffs and leg cuffs in the van without seat belting him and then repeatedly failing to get him medical attention. She said that when he was removed from the wagon, “Mr. Gray was no longer breathing at all.”

Oh, and that switchblade? Mosby’s office stated that the folding knife found on Gray wasn’t a switchblade.

    I watched Mosby’s press conference – fantastic!!!

She’s TOUGH, and has spine-of-carbon-steel camera presence. Something tells me we will be seeing a whole lot more of her.

She is going to have to be flawless. She is so new to the job and the field, I am pulling for her all the way but she will need to tread carefully. I would really like to see eviscerate the system – setting up a domino effect.

I think their indignation at the *gasp* horrors of inner city youth is pretty well noted, and pretty well laughed at.

      lol not this time
Im 99% sure there will be plenty of punishment handed out regardless what the right thinks should happen

read somewhere that they was worry about Mosby cause she pretty much is the only one in her family that is not or was a cop.
but good to see the swiftness of this.

    • Pilotshark May 1st, 2015 at 16:37

notice the Police Union has been speaking up. you know they are not going to sit it out.

      • Hirightnow May 1st, 2015 at 16:47

        Naturally.
“Out putting our lives on the line every day…”
“Police every day risk their lives…”
        “We’re outgunned!”
Except, it bleeds over from their “Look at all the violent ciminiminals we have to work against!” into the “I was just standing there, doing nothing.” section of the populace WAAAAAAYYYYYY too often…
And they have shown little concern about it.

        • Khary A May 1st, 2015 at 17:09

I’ll say the same thing that was said in Super Chicken, ” You knew the job was dangerous when you took it.”

I have little to no pity for someone who takes on the role of protector then complains that it’s a treacherous road they travel. Defenders of “men” are ALWAYS outgunned, outmanned and their lives are made cheap through service. Despite that they should never be outclassed. It’s what makes the defender great, it’s what makes the defender righteous.

So a question, Should it be mandatory for any and all policing agents read the Haga Kure?

          • Hirightnow May 1st, 2015 at 19:14

Someone wiser than I put it thusly (and I’m paraphrasing the hell out of this…):
Any person who thinks that it is their duty to make the human race obey society’s rules, or that they are the best one to lead them politically, should by no means be given that job.

    • CHOCOL8MILK May 1st, 2015 at 17:20

I wonder how the police union will react.

    • StoneyCurtisll May 1st, 2015 at 21:45

      Exactly~!

  11. CHOCOL8MILK May 1st, 2015 at 16:00

The plot thickens. I read up on the charges and potential prison time. The driver could get the most time in prison…30 years or more. Smart of him to plead the fifth. The other officers could get as littler as 10 years in prison.

  12. Gina May 1st, 2015 at 17:28

    You go Marilyn Mosby!

  13. CHOCOL8MILK May 1st, 2015 at 17:51

Per Faux News here’s what the Baltimore police union had to say:

“Before the charges were announced, the Baltimore police union president told Mosby in a letter that none of the six officers were responsible for Gray’s death.

‘Not one of the officers involved in this tragic situation left home in the morning with the anticipation that someone with whom they interacted would not go home that night,” the letter states. “As tragic as this situation is, none of the officers involved are responsible for the death of Mr. Gray.’

The union requested a special prosecutor in the case, saying Mosby had conflicts of interest including a friendship with the Gray family’s lawyer, Billy Murphy, who contributed to her campaign. Murphy was among Mosby’s biggest campaign contributors last year, donating the maximum individual amount allowed, $4,000, in June. Murphy also served on Mosby’s transition team after the election.”

Here are a couple posts from yahoo story about Freddie Gray’s death being ruled as a homicide….

    Eggplant 4 minutes ago

Twas the night before protest of calm and pitch black
The NIGGERS were stirring their cauldrons of crack
When down through the darkness a ray of light beamed
Like cockroaches they gathered as apes to a stream
They grabbed bricks, tree branches, their crotches and WHORES
And marched tribes of simians to loot and burn stores
The police who are paid to protect the public at large
Were more worried about image when they should have yelled charge!
Dante, Lashondra, Shaqueda and their 12 absentee dads
Smashed windows, lit fires, and stole as much as could grab
Their arms full with toilet paper and diapers, and a few with their Kools
Several well placed snipers would have stopped those thieving NIGGER fools
The guard was called in with curfews in place
While the NIGGER continues plans to destroy the white race
To the white liberal SCUM that support these mutant ape
I hope you and your families are murdered and savagely raped!
And when you call the police whom you so blindly deride
They won’t show up to help because you will have already DIED!

Northern Europeans and Asians are the most intelligent race on the planted! Their intelligence is passed on from one generation to the other, they became the dominant race because of their biology!

Africans are the most ignorant race on the planet! The blacks and their hatred for White people is biological! They cant be negotiated with, driven to excel, or propped up!

50 years and 23 trillion dollars later the welfare state is a demonstrable failure. The blacks burning cities down are 4th generation welfare recipients!

When the welfare cards are turned off, they will leave the slums and come to your neighborhood. Its time for White people to put aside their differences and unite a one proud race!

It seems with these verdicts, we have witnessed a civil rights issue of our time (cops being held accountable for the death of a black man) and yet we have so many people who still exist in our society who have nothing but hate in their hearts for their fellow Americans simply because of the color of their skin, their gender, or their sexual identity.

        • John Tarter May 2nd, 2015 at 00:20

Aren’t you jumping the gun a little bit? They just might be acquitted and if they are wouldn’t justice have been served?

          • whatthe46 May 2nd, 2015 at 02:48

then you believe OJ wasn’t guilty then? if you say no, then you’re a damn liar. so the men sentenced to death for a crime they didn’t commit, was justice? how about the many that were murdered because it’s state sanctioned. you think justice was served in those cases. what about gray’s justice? not only did he not do anything to get falsely arrested, he was brutally killed. where was his opportunity to be given the benefit of the doubt? you fricken sicko.

      • John Tarter May 2nd, 2015 at 01:57

Oh come on, you know the not-so-reverend Al Sharpton and others were praying and hoping for six white police officers.

        • bpollen May 2nd, 2015 at 02:40

I suggest you take that up with Sharpton. If you explain that you are some dickhead from the internet, he will certainly grant you an interview so you can discuss it with him.

        • OldLefty May 2nd, 2015 at 09:47

          Again;

What they don’t ever seem to see is that just through their own rhetoric, they give away the same mindset as those who engage in the very violence that causes them such joyful outrage.

Can anyone doubt that those who love to tell us that violence is all “these
animals” understand “, would be the first to lob a missile into Tel Aviv if THEY were born and raised in the occupied territories?

Would be the first to loot and riot if THEY were born into poverty and the white kids were being killed by BLACK police officers who were exonerated by a black power structure?

Look at the rhetoric that they use when talking about white “patriots” standing up the “tyranny” of authority figures.

Imagine if someone at the Bundy ranch had been taken into custody, frisked, handcuffed behind his back, and transported to where ever said to have STILL produced a gun and shot and killed himself, or died of spinal injuries???

        • EmmanuelKShannon May 2nd, 2015 at 12:36

Al Sharpton doesn’t talk for me or a good amount of the black people i know, we can’t stand him and people like him. I find it funny that D.L Hughley , a comedian even said it’s not a black problem but a policing problem that just so happens to fall into something that happens to black people more often then not when compared to other races(paraphrasing but whatever). If you can’t see that the problem is policing practices and not race then there’s no reason to talk to you, if you want to continue to harp on about race like the media and some idiots that you see posting here, Washington Times, Twitchy, Right Wing Media, ABC, etc then please make your own site, blog, etc and argue it out.

        • StoneyCurtisll May 2nd, 2015 at 15:58

          I’m sorry John…
I do not believe that to be the case at all…

      • Red Eye Robot May 3rd, 2015 at 03:17

Opps! I guess they didn’t get the memo

    • John Tarter May 2nd, 2015 at 00:21

Oh my, the race hustlers can’t be pleased with this outcome.

      • bpollen May 2nd, 2015 at 02:41

        Huh, so Fox is unhappy?

      • dave-dr-gonzo May 2nd, 2015 at 10:11

On the contrary: for some time, activists and minority advocates have been saying that cops of all ethnicities and backgrounds have been targeting black people. You would have been well aware of this if you had taken the time to pull your head out of your rosy, prolapsed sphincter, “Tourette’s Tarter”.

The BAD news is starting to roll in…

Lieutenant Brian Rice charged in Freddie Gray death had weapons seized in 2012

    http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/bs-md-brian-rice-20150501-story.html

    • whatthe46 May 1st, 2015 at 23:21

he’s fair game. i want all of their records to come out. they will put the victims on trial everytime in the media and smear them. they redacted certain info. but, they never redact info on the victims. it somehow slipped passed them and the media got a hold of the file, how on earth could that have happened. but, their records are on lock down and guarded.

      • dave-dr-gonzo May 2nd, 2015 at 10:09

In this case, putting the victim on trial is turning into epic fail. The latest meme: Freddie Gray had an “outstanding warrant” (being pushed by some imbecile at The Blaze named John Cardillo).when it was in fact resolved on March 18th. Once again, we see lies mixed with the usual race-hustling and race-baiting.

  17. labman57 May 1st, 2015 at 22:22

With regard to this type of criminally-abusive conduct when apprehending and processing suspects, I suspect we are looking at the tip of a ‘negligent homicide’ iceberg existing among municipal law enforcement agencies across America.

  18. William May 1st, 2015 at 23:12

But…..but…the guy over at the fair and balanced network said Freddie killed himself.

    • whatthe46 May 1st, 2015 at 23:18

yeah. just like the Chavis Carter, whose hands were cuffed behind his back while sitting in the back of a police car, managed to shoot himself in the head. they bought that chit too.

  19. John Tarter May 2nd, 2015 at 00:24

Not that the state’s attorney has indicted these police officers, I trust she will be as equally vigorous in prosecuting all the thugs who were robbing and burning. Surely there is enough video available of the miscreants in action to get convictions.

    • bpollen May 2nd, 2015 at 02:39

Someone said, where you stand depends on where you sit.
I have to go buy cat food.

There are groups, that seem to have an international problem, getting accepted. There isn’t any country, that welcomes them with open arms, everyone wants to get rid of them. I don’t know why that is the case, but there are plenty of examples.

Rosa, would have had a lot to say about all this.
