BridgeGhazi Figure To Plead Guilty
David Wildstein, a former ally of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, is set to plead guilty this week, according to a person with knowledge of the matter, suggesting he may be cooperating with prosecutors probing traffic jams he ordered near the George Washington Bridge.
Wildstein is scheduled to appear Friday in federal court in Newark, where grand jurors have heard testimony in secret for months about gridlock over four mornings in Fort Lee, New Jersey, according to the person, who requested anonymity because the matter isn’t public.
The governor and would-be presidential candidate is playing it cool:
Gov. Chris Christie on Wednesday said he’s “not the least bit concerned” about the federal probe into the George Washington Bridge lane closure controversy that’s rocked his administration.
The governor, speaking to reporters in New Jersey for the first time in months, also refused to speculate on the outcome of the probe just as Bloomberg news reported that a former Christie ally is planning to plead guilty this week in federal court. …
The Bloomberg report, citing an anonymous source, said former a Port Authority top executive, David Wildstein, could soon plead guilty to undisclosed charges related to the lane closures.
“This is all speculation based upon like a four line story in Bloomberg, so I don’t know,” Christie said.
If, by “four line[s],” you mean twenty-seven paragraphs.

Guber Christie said he’s “not the least bit concerned”. Every time he opens his piehole, the truth is always well proven to be the opposite e.g. Gov Christie said ‘I saw one text from a legislative hearing about the lane closures.’ But a Verizon subpoena found 100+ DELETED text messages were forwarded to the N.J. Blob from the hearing! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/07/17/chris-christie-aide-texts_n_5596426.html
