Although Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act has recently raised serious questions about the future of pizza-catering at gay weddings, the bulk of the crusading for the right to discriminate against LGBT people is taking place at wedding bakeries and other more traditional purveyors of matrimony-related services. Aside from the handful of legal cases, the poor, put-upon wedding baker is the go-to hypothetical for those who argue in favor of religion-backed discrimination.

Instead, she refused this obvious crank call, and was rewarded with death threats. This is obviously at least as important an issue as wedding pizza, because…READ MORE

I think it is inappropriate to call him a pastor. He’s not ordained. A preacher can be any schlemiel, as so deftly shown by the Doughboy.

Notice that no liberal-minded person here is defending him.
Notice that no liberal-minded person here is trying to justify what he says, or twist it into “what he obviously meant was…”
Notice that no liberal-minded person here is promoting sending him money for any reason.
Notice that no liberal-minded person here is denying that, yes, there’s some people on “our side” that we wish were not.
Notice that no liberal-minded person here really cares what he says, or espouses his views as if they were gospel.

The same cannot be said when it comes to RWers (I refuse to call them conservatives, and “frightened children crying about the world being so big and scary” is a bit too long to type repeatedly) and their heroes.
Oh, and we get it; he’s got a weight problem.

But we’re all responsible for every stupid thing every liberal has ever said, aren’t we?
