You’ll Never Believe Who Ruined Jeb Bush’s Wedding Pix

It turns out there is exactly one photo of Jeb Bush’s wedding – because all of the remaining photos were ruined by a certain legendary musical provocateur. We’re surprised this tale eluded us when it was first published a few weeks back – but, dear reader, you know it is our solemn duty to save such hard-hitting stories from the memory hole. You simply cannot make this stuff up:

Marvin Bush took plenty of photos of Jeb and Columba’s wedding. Unfortunately, he didn’t think much about the film he was taking them on — until he got into the darkroom.

Here’s the rest of the story, as recounted by Marvin in Bush sister Dorothy Bush Koch’s book, My Father, My President (h/t Time Magazine’s Zeke Miller on Twitter):

… As the paper settled into the chemicals in the tray, I began to see the image of a guitar over a picture of my grandmother and my parents.

It hit me like a ton of bricks. I had rerolled previously used film that had been taken at a Frank Zappa concert at the Mosque in Richmond, Virginia. …
