Tom Cotton’s Toxic Crazy Talk
On November 23rd, 2013, he held a town hall meeting in his district in Hot Springs, Arkansas at the Clarion Lake Resort. The meeting was organized primarily to discuss the Affordable Care Act, most specifically the mishaps with the websites governing the health insurance exchanges.
At one point, a constituent submitted a question mentioning that her insurance plan had been cancelled and she refuses to utilize the exchanges that Obama, who she calls a liar, set up.
Rather than telling her that she has an obligation for her own health to seek insurance, Cotton goaded her on, telling her that he himself wouldn’t use the exchange website because “Russian mobsters” may steal his identity.
QUESTION: I want to know why my state insurance Blue Cross and Blue Shield pre-existing high-risk pool was canceled and if it is going to be one of the hopefully reinstated plans that the President of the United States promised. He’s lied about so much but I really need my health insurance but I refuse to apply through Obamacare and leave myself and my personal information up for hackers.
COTTON: I have to say I share Tammy’s concerns about her personal information. I have to buy any kind of insurance plan that I might buy through the exchange. And I am certainly not going on the exchange to shop right now. I did in early October just because I knew that it would crash and I would prove a point. But I certainly wouldn’t put my Social Security number or my tax information in there right now until I’m 100% confident that it’s not going to be stolen by Russian mobsters and I’d have my identity stolen and sold on the black market internationally.
Slick move, Sparky, scaring a constituent into not getting insurance. The good folks at Raw Story have a video of Cotton’s toxic talk here.[su_fb]

No sympathy for her when she gets sick….use the Republican health plan, just die.

Yes–die and die quickly as soon as all your money runs out. It’s the Free Market solution to healthcare.

Welcome to the club.

I don’t watch TV because the Russians send those communism rays through the screen brainwashing us.

plus – I don’t use a name. (do you know who I am?).

Sen. Cotton’s middle name is Benedict.

The only up side is that Dumbo did serve
bluejayray March 11th, 2015 at 12:35
Yeah, but serving in the military does not make one an expert on foreign affairs or military matters. Look at “Crash” McCain. He actually shouldn’t even have BEEN flying over Vietnam. His record should have grounded him, but he was “special”.

RHIP thats the way of war

So did Tim McVeigh.

When signing up for insurance in her “high-risk” pool, did she not use a computer, does BCBS not use a computer complete with her social security number? Do they simply tattoo some kind of insurance pass on her forehead?
bluejayray March 11th, 2015 at 12:33
Facebook probably knows more about her private intimate details than the IRS does…

Ha! Excellent point.

It makes me shake my head slowly back and forth…”Keep Government OUT of my MEDICARE!!!” There’s just not enough tin foil hats to go around.

Karla, you have made so many funnies I should make a list…throat punch still cracks me up

just because this frat prepie was SELECTED by the US Senate Majority leader doesn’t mean the American people will support his immature actions. In two years he might well find himself nothing more than a junior senator of the minority looking for a singing bus back to Arkansas.

When you give the idiots power through gerrymandering, this is what you get, idiots in power.
bluejayray March 11th, 2015 at 12:31
We need to keep pressing that point. If we lose more states before the next census, we may as well just turn out the lights and shut the door on our way out.
bluejayray March 11th, 2015 at 12:30
It cracks me up. They have no problem giving their most intimate details to corporations who actually DO use the information nefariously. All these whiners should just go see what the ACA has to offer them. It will probably be cheaper, better, and a hell of a lot more private.

“Tehran Tom” Cotton is afraid Russian mobsters will steal his constituent’s identity? I’m surprised he didn’t compose a letter to Vlad stating that he will not support Russia compromising the privacy of (constituent’s name & address) by letting them obtain all of his/hers personal information (attached).

It’s a pretty day when a senator f#$%s an elderly woman over to make himself sound good making things up.
jybarz March 11th, 2015 at 21:48
Not surprised. I’ts a GOP lockstep lying about Obamacare. They are shitscared because they know it is going to be a tremendous success that people will love and see that the GOP doesn’t care… GOP-NO-CARE!
Snick1946 March 11th, 2015 at 23:40
Didn’t Cotton spend part of his recent Senate campaign denigrating his opponent’s religious beliefs, suggesting he wasn’t really a Christian? This is one scary dude.
alpacadaddy March 12th, 2015 at 13:02
It’s stunning that so many RWNJ’s are so willfully misinformed, such as his constituent here. ‘Tammy’ is so preoccupied with hate & mistrust that she doesn’t even realize that the ACA abolished the unfair corporate practice of price-gouging, cancelling, or refusing coverage for people with pre-existing conditions. You just can’t fix stoopid!
Jeffrey Samuels March 12th, 2015 at 13:53
Never thought I would see the day that Rick Perry would look good in comparison, but there you go!
