On Friday morning, the Bureau of Labor Statistics
released the latest mortifying statistics on President Barack Hussein Obama’s
war on jobs, which showed that in February, the unemployment rate ticked down to 5.5 percent, while the economy added 295,000 jobs. Even with the jobs numbers for January being revised down by 18,000 jobs, the economy has still averaged 288,000 jobs created for the past 3 months. February also marks six months since President Obama
beat Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s promise to lower the unemployment rate to 6% in four years. I guess Mitt was sort of right,
Obama isn’t working, Obama is workin’ it!
The February jobs report marks another milestone, though, as this White House statement released Friday morning points out…READ MORE

Great 12, million jobs, the working age population grew by over 13 million people. Hence the 37 year record low Labor participation rate. In Feb of 2014 it was 63.0, Feb of 2015 it’s 62.8 Congratulations on your admitted failure

Thank You Mr. President.

Yes, thank you Mr. President. Black unemployment is twice the national average. Along with that we have 92 million people not working and 56 million women not in the labor force. But of course continuing to let in millions of low skilled illegals into the country is the right thing to do. Yes, thanks again Mr. President.

John, please help. I lurk in right wing blogs and I am getting confused.
I go to some right wing blogs and they say that there are plenty of jobs. but black unemployment is high because we are all lazy and shiftless vagrants who quit school and made 5 women pregnant.
But others like you say that the black unemployment rate is high because of the abject failures of this President.
So if you could tell me which of these talking points is accurate in your opinion, I would appreciate it.
I need to recalibrate my bullsh*t detector. I tried it on your 92million not working and 56million women statistics, and it blew a fuse.

Blame the salary cap in pro sports.

in any case, I did not hear you conservatives complaining about the black unemployment rate being higher than the national average when a Republican was in office.
many thanks for yet another clear illustration of right wing lies and hypocrisy.

Not that facts or reality matter to you Obama-haters, but here are the facts anyway. It is uncanny how no matter what you post in this forum, it is never a true representation of what is actually happening.

The baby boomers’ exit from the prime-aged workforce
and their movement into older age groups
will lower the overall labor force participation rate,
leading to a slowdown in the growth of the labor force
OldLefty March 7th, 2015 at 21:54
And you guy have obstructed anything that would remedy that.
In the 42-year period during which the Bureau of Labor Statistics has separated out unemployment data into different races, black unemployment has always been higher than white unemployment.
It was highest in 1989.
Since 2007, before the recession, “the percentage of blacks in the labor force (employed or actively seeking work) has fallen by less than the comparable figure for whites (a 2.8 percentage-point decline versus a 3.3 percentage-point fall).”
Together these two data points indicate that when black Americans lose their jobs, they stick to their job search for longer than white Americans, inflating the black unemployment rate relative to white’s.

Before I could reply, Lefty and Arc have responded with actual facts and links.
I suggest you click on them and read.
Facts do matter. In fact facts matter a lot more than your completely unsupported, and unsubstantiated bumper sticker phrases.
