Joe Klein Critical Of ‘Bloodlust’ For Brian Williams

It’s a witch hunt, says Time‘s Joe Klein.

Klein wrote that the media appeared to be participating in a witch-hunt for the career of Brian Williams, in jeopardy after revelations that he exaggerated some of his stories. During an appearance on CNN today, he reiterated his claims.

When asked whether the new revelations about his Berlin Wall and Pope anecdotes changed his opinions, Klein said that while Williams’s pattern of behavior may prevent him from functioning as an anchor, the criticism of him had reached a level of “bloodlust”.

“We have become very adept at witch hunts, and driving people out of politics, and now, driving people out of journalism,” he told Michael Smerconish, adding that the only way Williams would survive is by “putting his head down” and focusing on his work.

Watching the right wing indignation over Brian Williams is a show unto itself.

Joke Line, yet another idiot, incestuous Beltway denizen who is heavily invested in the “Village” narrative, has no idea of the extent to which he has become a parody of the “old media”.

STFU, Klein, reporting on Williams’ lies is not a witch hunt. Are you guilty of lying in your journalistic career, too? Is this why you’re defending Brian Williams’ self-serving lies?

Klein did stupidly lie about writing that book.

He should have played it coy and had fun with the media speculation rather than just flat-out say he didn’t write it. I don’t know what he was thinking.

That’s how I feel about Williams. What was he thinking? Did he really think he could get away with it? I don’t buy the confusion explanation.

I’m 100% sure that I’ve never been hit by a SAM! How can one get confused by that?

I have mixed feeling about Williams.

Williiams, SHOULD have been fired, with all the rest of the MSM, for repeating Bush’s lies that started a needless war.

But that never happened. America collectively yawned.

But now we are all outraged about a personal tall tale that got nobody hurt?
