People Bidding Thousands For Sheriff’s ‘In Dog We Trust’ Rug

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in Florida was sending back an awesome rug due to a hilarious typo in the logo, but now he’s auctioning it off online with plans to donate the money to an animal rescue group.

Sounds confusing? It’s not really.

Instead of “In God We Trust” written across the rug, due to a typo, it reads “In Dog We Trust.”

WXYZ reports:

The $500 rug, with a large deputy’s badge woven into it, had been at the Sheriff’s Office for a matter of months when a deputy working security noticed the misprint: “Dog” instead of “God.” It was quickly rolled up and carted away Wednesday after reporter Adam Winer from our sister station WFTS asked about it.

At this time, the top bid is $2,675.00. The rug cost $500. That’s not too shabby and it’s for a good cause.

There are five days left to bid. I won’t be one of the bidders because I don’t have thousands to spend on a typo. Besides, I make them for free.

    Hopefully, there won’t be some kill-joy whining about giving away “taxpayer property”…

    Glad that the dept. is donating the funds to a worthy cause, but 500 for a rug in the lobby or where ever seems extravagant. IDK/JMO
