Unemployment Down To 5.6%; Best Year Since 1999

Posted by | January 9, 2015 09:17 | Filed under: Economy Good News Top Stories

December hiring made 2014 the best year for jobs since 1999, with 2.952 million jobs added. The unemployment rate is now 5.6%.

Hiring gains in December were reflected across all sectors of the economy, and government statisticians revised upwards the October and November numbers by a combined 50,000.

That means that November’s first-blush estimate of 321,000 jobs was actually a sizzling 353,000.

The combined strong showing over the final two months of 2014 help explain the two-tenths of a percentage point drop in the jobless rate.

Mitch McConnell is already taking a bow and saying thank you to the right-wingers applauding him for doing such a good job.

Who knew saying NO and being an obstructionist would have such a positive effect on the economy, (snicker) I hope Obama learns from the gop strategy and blocks every step they take.

Where are all the conservatives? Why aren’t they chiming in and disputing this story with their “facts”.

when news like this appears I am always dumbfounded (right word?) by the absence of the wahoo crowd of gob subminds and their razor sharp comments.

Wahoo outed himself some time ago.
His problem is, was, and will likely remain the color of the Presidents skin. Every success this country enjoys merely increases his stomach bile.
His racism has long since overcome his love or concern for his country.

All together now! “Obama did it!” Wait, what do you mean the GOP are taking credit? The GOP that said no to a jobs bill. The GOP that didn’t want to give tax credits to American corporations that returned to the States? The GOP that said no to helping the vets they sent to war find employment? That GOP is taking credit for the economic turnaround? Really? Hahahahaha
