The terrorist
attack on Charlie Hebdo magazine headquarters that killed 12 people has completely dominated the news since Wednesday morning, understandably so. Aside from the cold newsroom calculus about what leads, the
apparent motivation for the attack was a uniquely offensive one for Americans, particularly for American journalists, and fed into an already-roiling American debate over Islam and terrorism. But other things did happen yesterday and today, and they got reported at least a little bit.
Not so the bombing of an NAACP field office in Colorado Springs, Colorado, at least not for most of the first two days following the bombing. I watch a lot of news, but I only found out about the NAACP bombing when someone on Twitter asked me when/if we might be writing something about it. Outrage over the lack of coverage became evident when the #NAACPBombing hashtag became a top trending topic on Twitter, even as the mainstream media shut the news out almost completely.
The bombing happened on Tuesday, and as of this afternoon…READ MORE

Yeah, they have an entertaining show, but they like to get all puffed up over their politics and claim they have these questions and points no one on the Left can handle.
So I logged on their FB and began doing so, real nice-like and they didn’t like the points I made.
That’s their thing. You have to argue the points they want you to and if you have a different angle they can’t handle, they cry foul.
They kicked me offa there.

Indeed.
The fun comes when members of their audience bring these “iron clad” arguments online and get slaughtered in debate because they believe the hosts when they tell them they’ve covered the whole subject.
One of the funny things to listen for on that show is how they keep contradicting themselves on whether government policy can affect the economy. When faced with facts on the economy performing better under economic policies of Democratic Party presidents than Republicans, they will insist that government policies have no effect on the economy, but will turn right around and insist that tax cuts for the rich or corporations will increase economic growth.
Point that out and they ban you from their FaceBook for being a “troll.”

“Police initially reported that an explosion had been heard outside Mr. G’s Hair Design Studios, a barbershop that occupies the same building at 603 S. El Paso St. The device was near the northeast corner of the building, adjacent to a wall of the barbershop.
No one was injured and the building was not damaged beyond some charring on the outside wall of the barbershop.
Gene Southerland, owner of Mr. G’s, said police told him the blast was caused by a flare and some type of pipe bomb next to a gas can, which did not ignite.
Authorities would not confirm details of the items found at the scene.
Sanders, (FBI Spokeswoman), was unable to say what kind of damage could have been caused had the gas can exploded, and could not say how much gas was in the container. “Based on investigations to date, it does not appear it was detonated accidentally,” Sanders said.
Investigators may be looking at the possibility of intended arson rather than an explosion, she said.”

One has to realize where this took place….no not the map below. It was in CO Springs, CO. The reddest part of the state that is highly populated by the military and the Air Force Academy. This was no interest to them. The barber shop was closed and setting it off in the alley behind it made it easy to get away after setting it off. The gas can next to the explosion didn’t even explode. Oh, it was just “them”. Nobody cares down there. And they get away with it. It would have made every TV news in Denver for two days and until they found this creep. Domestic terrorists aren’t as exciting as Muslim terrorists who might come and get us. McConnell, McCain and Ms Lindsey will want to go defend Paris so they won’t come here! It’s all Obama’s fault. No need to worry about someone just trying to blow up a NAACP office in a military town!

Maybe the guy they’re looking for was just pissed at barber shops in general.
Y’know… cause he’s balding and all.
:D
But seriously, I think the best point is comparing it to what coverage a different, but similar, building would have.
What if it had been the local Republican Headquarters?
Or an empty school?
My hope is that it gets more substantial coverage once more details are known.
Like… anything besides an explosion with no injuries/minor property damage and a balding white guy in a pick-up truck.
(I have to admit, there really isn’t much to report right now and I hate when any story with one minute of info gets special coverage all day.)

Do a lex/nex search… it was covered quite well concerning how much info is known yet. Even shown a press conference pertaining to it many times. Don’t think it has anything to do with the title of this article.
burqa January 10th, 2015 at 21:12
Yeah, I saw it in the Washington Post. It wasn’t a big article and it wasn’t on the front page.
I think the Post pretty much gets it in terms of issues facing African Americans.
If the stories were reversed, I think there would have been about the same amount of coverage for each if a dozen people had been killed by the bomb at the barbershop next to the NAACP and if no one had been hurt in Paris.
Spirit of America January 10th, 2015 at 22:25
The ‘no one hurt’ is a big factor… as they say in that industry, ‘if there is blood, it runs’.
