Ohio Town Orders Man To Take Down Zombie Nativity Scene

A Cincinnati town ordered a man to take down a large “Zombie Nativity” scene on his front yard. Instead of the baby Jesus in the manger, Jason Dixon created a Zombie-themed nativity scene, featuring a fanged creature with white eyes.

Sycamore Township took issue with the unusual lawn decoration and sent Jason Dixon two notices of zoning violations.

According to KHOU, officials said they received complaints about debris at the home, and upon inspection concluded the nativity violates rules on size and placement of yard structures.

So, they told Dixon to remove the debris and if he’s not compliant by Friday, he will face legal action.

Dixon manages a haunted house attraction and felt the zombie nativity was appropriate and he said he worked with what he had.

Township administrator Greg Bickford explained that the zombies aren’t the issue, but the size of the front-yard structure is not permitted.

Check the neighbor’s yards, if they have Christmas displays that take up the same amount of space then he should sue. If it really is just about size and it is temporary that is a huge difference than actually building a permanent structure. For instance, could you put a POD in your yard when you are remodeling or moving? Or what about putting up a canopy when you are painting furniture? Is there a time limit?

I don’t see how people can stand living in a place like that, maybe it is just because I have lived rural for most of my life but being forced to be exactly the same as all the neighbors seems like a fate worse than death.

And you know one of his neighbors ratted him out because they would not show up random like that.
