Florida Woman Wearing ‘Catholic Warrior’ T-shirt Arrested In Attack On Satanic Temple Display
A Tallahassee woman was arrested for ripping apart a Satanic Temple holiday display because she said she “could not take it anymore, because it was “not right.” It was about 11:30 a.m. when Susan Hemeryck, 54, began the gnashing of the teeth to rip it apart.
Her mugshot shows her wearing a “Catholic Warrior” t-shirt.
The Tallahassee Democrat reports:
Hemeryck then tried to remove the display. Officers stopped her and told her to put it back.
One of the officers explained to her that removing the display was in violation of the law. In response, Hemeryck said, she “could not take it anymore” and began to rip the display apart.
She was then escorted away and placed under arrest.
The controversial diorama of an angel falling into a pit of fire made headlines when it was set up Monday.
It was the only holiday display denied last year for being “grossly offensive.” This year, the group enlisted Washington, D.C.-based Americans United for Separation of Church and State, which threatened legal action if the display was again denied.
Americans United for Separation of Church and State released the following statement:
“This act of mindless vandalism should be condemned by all decent people and all those who support true freedom of religion. It’s important to remember that free speech in an open forum is for all groups, even those whose message some deem controversial or unpopular.”
Tengrain at Mock Paper Scissors notes, “For the record, it was next to a Festivus Pole made of PBR cans.
Hemeryck is facing a charge of criminal mischief and she was released on her own recognizance. It’s not clear as to whether the PBR cans were harmed during the Vandalism for Jesus incident.

There are Christians who are such anti-anything not Christian bigots who seem to get extra angry and resentful when they see non-Christians celebrating their respective holidays that just so happen to fall around the same time as Christian holidays. They get all thin-skinned and seem to be out to provoke.
Of course I really shouldn’t complain. After all (and thankfully), this incident is very unlike the usual Christian outbursts, which generally end in bloodshed and mass destruction of property.
