Sharpton Condemns Assassinations: ‘We Are All Outraged’

Today we mourn the loss of two NYPD officers who were gunned down in a vicious act of senseless violence.
As soon as news broke of the tragedy in Brooklyn, I spoke with both the families of Eric Garner and Michael Brown. And let me be perfectly clear, we are all outraged and saddened by the deaths of these police officers. Any use of the names of Eric Garner and Michael Brown, in connection with any violence or killing of police, is reprehensible and against the pursuit of justice in both cases.
At every rally and every march, we have stressed nonviolence and peaceful protests.
I delivered the eulogy at Michael Brown’s funeral and Eric Garner’s funeral and denounced anyone engaging in violence. We have even been criticized at National Action Network, NAN, for not allowing certain rhetoric/chants calling for violence, and we would abruptly denounce it at all of our gatherings. Violence never has and never will have a place in the true fight for equality and justice.

After witnessing their ghoulish behavior since BENGHAZI!!!111!!! – dragging the 4 tragically killed around like pull toys – and the way they’ve laid blame far and wide, I expect that blaming Sharpton will just be prelude to blaming the President, Holder, and, of course, the scary Valerie Jarrett. I’d bet serious $$$ that Hannity and O’Reilly are positively elated at the tragic murder of the 2, gleefully making notes of what they’ll be saying on their shows at this very moment.

“Hannity and O’Reilly are positively elated at the tragic murder of the 2…” the thing is, you’re absolutely right. and its really sad. it never ceases to amaze me, that when racist rant on and on about black gangs killing each other, and how violent they are, they forget or refuse to acknowledge, that some white people muder in even the most violent ways. gangs killing each other, that’s the life and chances of a short life they chose. but, when white people blow up buildings, rape and abduct children from their sleeping beds, or molest their own children, its considered something else. (they aren’t violent, just mentally ill) disgustingly enough, gang members have a beef with each other and no one else really. whereas, SOME white people who murder, have a beef with no one, per se. like, school children (20 blessed babies/souls) were murdered by a white guy, with no beef towards these children, just murdered for no true reason. or the white guy that killed so many in a movie theatre. no reason there. of the OK bombing, taking out (with violence) many including babies. not one of these people had an issue with McVeigh. now, let a “minority” kill a cop, when we are in this serious crisis (i call it that) they are so happy, because now they can say, “see what i mean about those people.”

It’s shocking and sad to realize that the RWNJ “leaders” like Hannity and O’Reilly, et al, hold those positions mostly because they are hate-peddlers of the first order. Frankly, I never thought I’d see the day when orchestrated hate and divisiveness would dominate national political discourse, and fringe lunatics would become heroes. Surely, I used to think, such idiocy would be rejected and marginalized. But, I also never thought I’d see a black president in my lifetime. That single event gave RW strategists “permission” to openly engage in strategies to coalesce their base around mutual fear and hatred of melanin. No longer constrained and limited to winks, nods, and dog whistles, the right has made hatred of certain fellow Americans a mark of “patriotism”. Pffft! Hatriots all.

Yesterday was a great day to be a fan of the game. Was shocked at the Eagles loss but glad for RGIII, and enjoyed the Chargers/49ers edge-of-my-seat back and forth plus overtime. It was exhausting armchair coaching those games – in a good way – and running a pick 6. ‘-) The Pats should easily beat the Jets today but . . . anything can happen on any given Sunday, especially since Edelman, Blount, and Connelly won’t be playing. Maybe we’ll get to see Brady run again. Can’t help but think of the Friends episode where Phoebe ran when I see Brady do that. hehehe
BTW – Still doesn’t seem right to see Sproles not wearing a Saints uniform.

The difference is that this is an anomaly and supported by virtually no one on either side of this debate. Had he not killed himself, he would have been tried and jailed – as this is how our legal system works.

Don’t kid yourself, this is a jolt )albeit small) to their flagging radio ratings, a fresh opportunity to be the race hustlers they are at the deepest depth of their souls, playing to the bigotry of their listeners. Sean and Rush couldn’t be happier.
Remember, Limbaugh is the guy who single-handedly damaged the entire talk radio business, driving listeners away, with his facually incorrect sexism-hustler attacks against Sandra Fluke, lied about Presidnet Obama “trash[ing] the founders” and was easily debunked, race-hustled fears that an Obama presidency would lead to an end to free elections, and famously got caught with boner pills flying back from a known pedophile’s paradise. Limbaugh’s scams make the Tawana Brawley hoax — of which Sharpton turned out to be the victim, as both the Wall Street Journal and NY Post (finally) reported when proof emerged that Brawley and her lawyer had lied to Sharpton — look like a peccadillo.
And don’t get me started on Hannity, the man whose attacks on liberals incited the killings at Knoxville Unitarian Church by Jim David Adkisson, the guy who ratcheted up violent and ultimately fatal hatred against obstetrician George Tiller.
INobody will believe Rush’s or Hannity’s cries of outrage at this. They haven’t changed. They are the same race-and-sexism-baiters and violence inciters that themselves into every news story that can be used to ratchet up fear and hatred.
