Dick Cheney On Innocent Detainee Tortured To Death: ‘I Have No Problem’ With That
On NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Dick Cheney told Chuck Todd that he would use the controversial interrogation methods “again in a minute.”
Todd said, “And it turned out it was a case of mistaken identity.”
“Right,” Cheney said. “But the problem I have was with all of the folks that we did release that end up back on the battlefield.”
“I’m more concerned with bad guys who got out and released than I am with a few that in fact were innocent,” he added.
Todd went on to ask the former vice-president if he was okay with the fact that about 25 percent of the detainees interrogated were actually innocent.
“I have no problem as long as we achieve our objective. And our objective is to get the guys who did 9/11 and it is to avoid another attack against the United States,” Cheney responded.
“We were very careful to stop short of torture,” Dick Cheney said.
Except at least one innocent man was tortured to death.
Cheney also hit back against the report’s claim that President George W. Bush was misled about the extent of the practices.
“This man knew what we were doing,” he said, outlining daily briefings that included the president, the CIA director and himself. “He authorized it. He approved it.”

Sadly this stain on America and what used to be our values will long outlive Cheney. Even with his government heart transplant. *sigh* a perfectly innocent heart sentenced to life inside a rectum.

Richard “D” Cheney is not better than Saddam Hussein.
Both used torture to further their personal agendas, (national interest)..
I’m sure if Saddam where alive today he would also say, “I would do it again(torture) in a minute”.
Saddam’s Iraq was once the most literate and well educated countries in the middle east..
There where no hot beds of terrorist activity, no car/truck bombings, no ISIS/ISIL..
Cheney/Bush transformed Iraq from a stable well educated and secular nation with a strong government that opposed Iran(supposedly our enemy) into the hell hole it is today.
If anyone should hang from a noose, it should be Cheney.

Just another in a long list of examples demonstrating that pro-life is nothing of the sort. The political right in this country is pro-birth and their concern for the welfare of the infant being born ceases once the child is no longer in the womb.
On the other hand, this now deceased Vietnamese citizen is the epitome of what I call pro life. He stopped an angry mob from beating an American pilot to death. Despite the fact that pilot was clearly engaged in an act of war against them.
So the former VP has no problem with killing an innocent man? Cheney, pro-birthers and many others on the right need to be reminded about what it means to be truly pro-life since that term does not even remotely describe their agenda, no matter how stridently they describe themselves as such.
In fact, I wonder how many Americans of any political stripe (including myself) would have the moral clarity to save the life of someone who intended to bomb their neighborhood.

McCain was a Navy lieutenant commander that day, Oct. 26, 1967, headed for a power plant in downtown Hanoi, when a Russian-made missile struck the right wing of his Skyhawk bomber. He ejected from the crippled plane and parachuted into Truc Bach (White Bamboo) Lake, his right leg and both arms broken.
On, then a North Vietnamese militiaman, had been hiding in a lakeside bomb shelter during the attack by a squadron of planes. Although he still can’t explain why he did it, he grabbed a bamboo pole as a float and paddled 100 yards into the lake to drag McCain to shore.
An angry crowd gathered around McCain. One smashed his shoulder with a rifle butt. Others kicked him.
“I told them, ‘Please don’t kill him,’ ” On recalled. And McCain was spared, to spend more than five years as a prisoner of war.

There once was a time when taking personal responsibility for your actions and the consequences of your actions was a “core value” of conservatives. Like just about all their “core values,” they tend to come and go, in and out of hibernation and here we see an example of this “core value” being comatose.
It is disgusting that Cheney and some of the others on the Right want our country to be one where torture is national policy.
And once again, a leading figure of the pro-torture crowd was not asked whether they had consulted any real live interrogators. These ladies and gentlemen happen to be the foremost experts on the subject.

Here is a statement for the Armed Services Committee, signed by 20 former U.S. Army interrogators:
“… trained and experienced interrogators refute the assertion that so-called “coercive interrogation techniques” and torture are necessary to win the “War on Terror.” Trained and experienced interrogators can, in fact, accomplish the intelligence gathering mission using only those techniques, developed and proven effective over decades, found in the Army Field Manual 34-52 (1992). You will also see that experienced interrogators find prisoner/detainee abuse and torture to be counter-productive to the intelligence gathering mission. The signatories to the Statement represent over 200 years of combined interrogation service and experience …
We, the signatories and subject-matter experts, ask that you ensure unhampered operation of the intelligence gathering mission by refusing to authorize or accept any interrogation practices that differ from the techniques and standards established in FM 34-52 (1992). We urge you to listen to the subjectmatter experts – the actual Interrogators to whom you entrust intelligence gathering – and refute any efforts to condone or authorize techniques we find to be counter-productive to the intelligence collection mission. …
Statement on Interrogation Practices
July 31, 2006
We the undersigned, former active-duty Army Interrogators (97E) and Interrogation Technicians (351E), believe the following two statements to be true:
• Trained and skilled interrogators can accomplish the intelligence gathering mission using only those interrogation techniques found in Army Field Manual 34-52 (1992).
• Prisoner/detainee abuse and torture are to be avoided at all costs, in part because they can degrade the intelligence collection effort by interfering with a skilled interrogator’s efforts to establish rapport with the subject. …”

Killing innocent people, bombing an entire country and killing 10’s of thousands, torture and the destruction of a people…for what. Cheney/bush wanted a war, they wanted the oil, so they ignored all warnings abefore 9-11 then lied us into a quagmire in the M.E. His Heart should be repossessed after he undergoes the same torture that he dismisses

They set up 911, they placed thremite bambs in the towers and the other building that was not hit. It was “pulled” It takes weeks to set a building up to “pull” Amd Marvin Bush was invilved in the insurance for the man who bought it and took out massive amounts of insurance on it, not to mention the building’s conmnection to the government.
