Schroëdinger’s Candidate Speaks!

Rand Paul was philosophically opposed wearing black turtlenecks 5 minutes before this picture was taken. (But we’re only guessing.)

And so we find ourselves once again wondering when we open the box will there be a cat, an ex-cat, or just which side of any issue Sen. Rand Paul happens to be today:

When asked by The Huffington Post on Tuesday morning whether he has concerns about a plan backed by President Barack Obama, which would reclassify the Internet as a utility and ban companies from charging for better Internet access, Paul said, “Yeah, I don’t want to see regulation of the Internet. I think it’s the wrong way to go about it.”

Some of you may recall back in the Year of Our Lord 2014 Rand Paul gave a much heralded speech at UC Berkeley, he was praised by the media as being a David going into the lion’s den. He talked about internet privacy saying famously (twice, even!), “What you do on your cellphone is none of their damned business,” but didn’t tell the young tech enthusiasts at Cal that he was all in favor of turning the Internet over to the big telecom conglomerates to strangle their bandwidth. I’m sure his audience would have been thrilled.

And just as a reminder, here’s Rand Paul’s record on some civil liberty issues (not his words, but his deeds):

But you know, if you listen to his words, you wouldn’t know any of these things. Here’s the tell (as they say in poker), when he asks a rhetorical question in any of his stump speeches, it is designed to have you think he agrees with your position, when in fact he is hiding from you whatever his real position happens to be.

Everything that Rand Paul says must be fact-checked, including “the,” and “Um.”

Future debate in the presidential primaries because he will not be nominated:
    “Please proceed Senator Paul”.

From you lips to God’s ear, Ol Blue, but I’m skeptical. The media doesn’t seem to do their job with him. Ever.

The ”Pauls” are a prime example of the ” I’m with you ” to the masses while kowtowing to their campaign paymasters. Say one thing then circumnavigate to another with plenty of excuses, misinformation and misdirection and the inevitable blame game. They are a class act second to none.

Paul, the serial plagiarist, should maybe steal some of his own material. At least he would gain some consistency…..
