Man Dressed In Camouflage Opens Fire In Pennsylvania Neighborhood

Police said a 63-year-old man is in custody after opening fire in a West Mifflin, Pennsylvania neighborhood then dumping kerosene throughout his home. His motivation isn’t clear but one neighbor suggested that the man is upset with his cable provider.

WTAE reports:

Neighbors said the man, whose name hasn’t been released, walked outside in camouflage and with a rifle around 3 p.m. Friday on Nordeen Street.

“He just came out, sat down calmly for about a minute on the wall, and then got up, aimed the gun, and started shooting,” said neighbor Jill Krivanek.

Some of those shots hit a pair of transformers at the top of utility poles along the street. Fluid from inside the transformers started gushing onto the road.

Krivanek said her first reaction was to rush her children to the back of the house for safety.

“They were terrified. They were crying and screaming,” she said.

Police showed up quickly and took the weapon from the shooter, according to witnesses. Authorities said he showed indications that he was suicidal.

“There was kerosene spread throughout the house which you could smell, and there was some doors with ropes on them. We didn’t know if they were traps,” West Mifflin police Sgt. Michael Hasson said.

The Bomb Squad was called to the scene and nearby residents were forced to leave until authorities secured the area.

The unidentified man was taken to a local hospital for psychological treatment. Police say he is expected to face charges.

This makes perfect sense because the man is upset with his cable provider and we all know guns solve every problem perfectly.
Because this lunatic was captured by police and is still alive; let me guess…he was white?

Had to be. Otherwise this story would be National Enquirer material.

    • granpa.usthai November 30th, 2014 at 13:02

good guess, we’ll probably know in a day or two. Still really baffled by the Texas incident though. (maybe they though he was gay?). Still don’t make no sense that the guy would pay for the same bullet that killed him ? How spendgluttony is that?
He should have just pointed his weapon at the Law Enforcement (???) personnel like they did in Nevada and walked away!

      – with his gun of course.

It’s the Murikan way when something upsets you….get a gun, fire randomly, pour kerosene or gas in home, terrify neighbors, and in some cases, fire upon first responders who come to help.
Thanks fear mongers, NRA, et al…

doesn’t say what he was so upset about though. Was it the service of the cable provider – or the programming? Some of them cable channels show that porno stuff like laptops show to RepubliKlan Legislatures when they is busy looking like they’re about the people’s business. (even though it’s more for their own under the table pleasure). Some of the good church going folk don’t take to such goings on [leastwise not out in the open] and if his cable provider was forcing him to sit there under endless hours forcing him to abuse and submit his very body and soul to MASTURBATE like some Republiclowns do in front of their staff members. Well, hell, it should be a no boner eventually!

This is a very lonely person I bet. If he had others in his life to talk to he wouldn’t feel like cable was such a big friggin’ deal. He needs a hobby or maybe he needs to figure out why he doesn’t have family or friends in his life and work on those issues.

    • M D Reese November 30th, 2014 at 12:11

      Pollyanna? Or snark?

      • Suzanne McFly November 30th, 2014 at 12:27

Pollyana I have to admit. He didn’t hurt anyone and if he doesn’t get some help, he may eventually hurt someone else or himself.

It definitely has the suicidal feel to it.

I’m going with the ‘over masturbation’ I just made up. It’s stated that he “came out, sit down calmly for about a minute on the wall” which is a clear indication that he had no ‘sexually induced’ pressures. However, if he had been inside for who knows how many eons MASTURBATING over and over because his evil cable provider had made porn channels available then…
Maybe they should check his program schedule, the last channel he was watching, and the airplane blankets lying around in dampness?

    • granpa.usthai November 30th, 2014 at 12:56

camo and guns will sometimes make you feel like you’re unwanted. Especially in today’s society. In SE Asia, the camo’s are readily acceptable – gives the littler rug ra -er uh – lovely little children lots of pockets to check for candy and such. No need for guns. Very few WHITE RACIST in the areas where mama nature is at her most productive.

        • Carla Akins November 30th, 2014 at 12:59

I’ve been good with TWC cable for easily 15 years. Well, except for that it’s expensive.

Of course the people that work there are humans, most good, a few stupid, etc., etc. But your discount example is one of the primary reasons I so despise them. If they can continue to offer you your service at one-half of what they were charging, then clearly they’re not just charging what the “market will bear,” they’re gouging. One-half.

Their service people that show up at the house, if you can get them scheduled, are helpful, polite and do a good job. Their centralized telephone help line is for shit. I’d detail the last fiasco, but that would get too wordy.

Their hardware is old, painfully under powered for the firmware they’re trying to ram through it and crashes about every 2 or 3 days. We’re on our 5th DVR/cable box in about 14 months and it’s a real pain reprogramming the “Series Manager” (for recording shows without having to remember to set the record function for each episode) for each new box.

Locally they are a broadband monopoly. Pricing structures make it impractical to go satellite for the teevee and TWC for the internet. They have ZERO reason to reinvest a larger portion of their obscene profits to better serve their customers.

And now they want to get bigger by merging with ComCast. Fuck them and the local/county supervisors they bribe to maintain their monopoly.

I have had terrible problems with my satellite TV, and they have overcharged me..should I nuke my entire neighborhood??

    • granpa.usthai November 30th, 2014 at 13:46

I would think there’s some sort of cooling off period required before detonating your improvised half of the 2nd amendment. While you definitely have the rite to bear arms (don’t see much difference in personal selections unless you’re gonna let the NRA TERRORIST BUMS dictate your selection to you) anything above 10 megatons does tend to be a bit noisy. May want to suggest to any of your neighbors 20 miles out plus to turn off all electrical currents and place little nuclear proof ear muffs on their favorite pets! – Wouldn’t worry about the folks within the 20 mile radius – test have shown they won’t notice any disturbance at all.

    • GreatLakeSailor November 30th, 2014 at 15:03

Can you not just shoot their satellite out of the sky? Start with one of your several AK’s or AR’s. If, after several thousand rounds, move up to your 0.50Cal. From there…..
