Prominent Legal Expert Eviscerates Darren Wilson’s Prosecution In Just A Few Tweets
Lisa Bloom (daughter of Gloria Allred, btw) read the grand jury transcripts and sharply shreds the prosecution 140 characters or less at a time.
I’m ashamed of my justice system, so good at protecting authorities and celebs, so pathetically unable to give justice to African Americans

Mr. McCulloch: why did you talk about inconsistencies in eyewitness testimony but not inconsistencies in Darren Wilson’s testimony?

An attorney who does not aggressively cross-examine the target of an investigation is an attorney who does not want to get to the truth.

Darren Wilson’s police intv: Mike Brown struck me in my face 10x. Wilson to grand jury: he struck me in my face 2x. No one points this out

Darren Wilson testifies he is 6 foot 4. Yet he says he felt like a child up against “Hulk Hogan.” Mike Brown was also 6’4″

Why are the names of the police officers who investigated Wilson redacted from the released documents? They are public officials.

All of these months have only been about the tiniest little crumb of justice . . . Charging Darren Wilson so that a trial will follow.

One witness who kind of said Brown “ran at him” didn’t know the name of his job… Another was sitting in the back seat of a van… None of their testimony was similar…
Every witness who saw hands up had the same basic story, no contradictions at all…
Here is all of the GJ evidence…

The lead witnesses were all asked if they were coerced, etc. while those who had contradicting versions were afforded every leniency…
McCullough should be found in an alley… with a TS prostitute…

That’s the best you can do? three minor inconsistencies? The evidence is overwhelming and it and the witnesses support the officer’s statement. Did you even bother to read the GJ document? If you had, you would know that there was a 20′ blood trail from the point where Brown turned around and where he actually fell. He was moving back in the direction of the officer. No shots in the back, no down on his knees surrendering, just movement back in the direction of the officer and a failure to follow the officer’s commands. And this after, he had struggled for the officer’s firearm in the car. Yes, evidence there too, his DNA was found on the officer’s pistol….

Think about what you just said: “a 20 ‘ trail of blood FROM THE THE POINT WHERE BROWN TURNED AROUND and where he actually fell.” (emphasis mine). So, regardless of what happened at the car– I’ll give Wilson the benefit of the doubt and accept that everything he said up to that point– the facts remain as follows: Brown flees; Wilson exits the car, gun drawn, and gives chase. Does he immediately begin firing? If so, he is trying to shoot an unarmed man in theack. At this point, what threat is Michael Brown to the officer?
Brown continues to run untill he is the length of half a football field, 150+/- feet from the car. Wilson has continued to persue while shooting at Brown. Again, from the moment he begins to flee until he is 150 feet away, what threat is he to Wilson, or anyone else for that matter? Then, for whatever reason–one we CANNOT KNOW, mind you, Brown turns and faces the man who has been chasing and shooting at him. Then, either he “charges” like a demon, walks like a man terrified out of his mind, stumbles like someone exhausted and scared, whatever. At some point, apparently after Brown has stopped and turned, Wilson bullets begin to find their mark, for as you say, there is a trail of blood for twenty feet from the point he turned to the point he fell. How far from his patrol car was Wilson when he stopped firing? How far was Brown from him when Brown went down?
One thing seems pretty certain at this point: if Michael Brown had kept running, Wilson would have continued shooting, either until he hit Brown in the back (which he was obviously TRYING TO DO AT FIRST ANYWAY) and stopped/killed him, or until he ran out of bullets.
I guess my question is: why? Why try to shoot an unarmed man in the back who poses no threat to you whatsoever? Why not call for backup, like any rational cop would have? Looks like Brown posed no threat to Wilson until Wilson made it clear HE was a threat to Brown. Which, as it turned out, he was. A deadly threat.
