True Story: House Republicans File Suit Against Obama Over Health Law
In 2012, John Bohner said,”Obamacare is the law of the land” but it has been treated as anything but that by Republicans.
The lawsuit — filed against the secretaries of the Health and Human Services and Treasury Departments — focuses on two crucial aspects of the way the administration has put the Affordable Care Act into effect.
The suit accuses the Obama administration of unlawfully postponing a requirement that larger employers offer health coverage to their full-time employees or pay penalties. (Larger companies are defined as those with 50 or more employees.)
House Republicans have also threatened to either to add an immigration component to the lawsuit filed on Friday, which addresses only the Affordable Care Act, or began a separate legal action, thus filling two lawsuits against Obama for acting as if he’s the President.
I really think Democrats should sue Congress for doing absolutely nothing with the exception of filing meaningless lawsuits.

“I really think Democrats should sue Congress for doing absolutely nothing.”
I think regular US citizens – Democrat and Republican alike – should file a class action suit against Congress. They have not performed their fiduciary duty of governing, and its time they be held accountable.

As long as the settlement comes out of their pockets, and not ours.

So should we also sue the former Congress of 2009 for failing to even pass a budget?

If Turley has gone court shopping, then this lunatic move might get a hearing in district court. Otherwise, it will get thrown out due to lack of standing, as other suits have been.
Here’s a thought, Mr. Boehner, get Congress to do its job!

You ask too much.

Well gee wiz, what happened to the last lawsuit they talked about (to appease the bagger base), but didn’t file?
This should be fun. An idiot versus a Constitutional lawyer.

so the president makes a decision that the republicans don’t like about immigration, and they sue him about ACA.
Um, haven’t we been here before?

counter sue the US Congress for usurping the US Constitution. Have all members who signed on to the aiding and abetting foreign terrorist in direct violation of the Republican Patriot Act rendered to Guantanamo for enhanced interrogation to find out their sources who are working from the outside to destroy America.

Amazing that the two sets of legal firms quit because it was worthless and bogus. Waste of tax payer money. Could have feed a lot of poor people for what was spent and wasted

Not really…we did it to ourselves…
Every election is important not just the ones for national office.

Funny how the Republicans are always whining about how the Democrats ‘love spending other people’s money.’ Yet they have no problem wasting taxpayer money on this tripe.

I remember when Hillary Clinton was proposing single payer to Congress. Back then the case had been made and agreed upon by both sides that the cost of health care was rising faster than incomes and it was time to change course and see to it that all Americans could get coverage. Before they voted, the Republicans promised if it was voted down, they would present a better plan to do essentially the same thing.
15 years later, millions more Americans joined the ranks of the uninsured and the GOP had their plan stashed in the attic somewheres and for all those years the Democrats failed to hold them to their word.
With Romney as governor, Massachusetts adopted the Republican plan and Romney proclaimed success and said it was a model for the country.
Now the GOP hates their own creation.
For some time I’ve thought of adding a new axiom to “Burqa’s Political Laws” and this may be number 7: just wait long enough and the Republicans will reverse themselves on whatever they favor or oppose today.
