Josh Earnest: Republicans Have ‘Buried Their Heads In The Sand’ On Immigration

Presidential Press Secretary Josh Earnest was on the radio show Thursday night with a preview of the president’s immigration speech. Earnest remarked that Republicans had years to act and wouldn’t bring a bipartisan immigration bill to the floor:

You know my Republican friends up on Capitol Hill like to jump up and down and complain about amnesty. The fact is that amnesty is very closely associated with doing nothing. And what the President’s going to do is hold a large chunk of these undocumented workers accountable, and we’re going to hold them accountable again by allowing them to apply for a status that would not make them live in fear of being separated from their families on a daily basis but it will require them to pass a criminal background check. It will require them to pay taxes. It will require them to get right with the law. And this is a lot different than our Republican friends who to this point have buried their heads in the sand and intentionally gone out of their way to block a common sense bipartisan proposal that has already passed in the Senate.

Does anybody really believe that politicians right or left want to FIX the problem?
