Study: White People Literally Think Black People Have Magical Powers

If you’ve wondered why some white people are so fearful of black people, it might be because they think black people are literally warlocks.

What spells will black people cast on us poor persecuted white people?

As it turns out, some of that fear is not just founded on racism, but some people are just idiots.

NY Magazine reports:

A recent study in Social Psychological and Personality Science casts an interesting new light on this: White people apparently have a “superhumanization bias” when it comes to black people — that is, they associate them with superhuman abilities.

Gawker reports:

In one study, researchers found that white people were significantly more likely to attribute a number of magic powers to black people, including “hav[ing] superhuman skin that is thick enough that it can withstand the pain of burning hot coals” and “hav[ing] supernatural strength that makes them capable of lifting up a tank.”

Whites were also found to believe black people more capable of “read[ing] a person’s mind by touching the person’s head,” but not to a statistically significant degree.

The research showed that white people are prone to associate blacks — more than whites — with superhuman words like ghost, paranormal, and spirit.  They are more likely to think a black person has certain superhuman abilities.

The more they think blacks are superhuman, the less they view black people as having a capacity to feel pain. The study suggests that’s why black people are often under-treated for pain.

I’m more afraid of the people that participated in this study than other races.

On the other hand, you know Neil deGrasse Tyson has magical powers.

White people are just more inclined to be afraid of things they don’t understand that might represent change. Magic is things changing without understanding why. When your world is based on materialism and things being stable and not changing, you become fearful. Black people becoming equal in America is like magic to a lot of old white people, they just don’t understand.

Which reminds me; I tried explaining to someone about brain functions when they were convinced that their thoughts happen first, then the brain makes the body function after those thought commands. When I told them that their thoughts are brain functions, I was told I didn’t know WTF I was talking about. O.o

Well, some people do more thinking with their little head than anything else.

Are these all white closet cases living in panic rooms? Just watch the 700 Club or any of those snake oil purveyors performing faith healings, and they’ll get the same context.

And please don’t ask them about rainbows!

Is this from the Onion? Its not real, right? Neal deGrasse Tyson is a brilliant man, but magical powers? Hardly, if he did have magical powers he would work to make the rwnj’s understand how the Earth is being destroyed and make them educate themselves about how to fix it.

    • mea_mark November 16th, 2014 at 18:07

Maybe Anomaly is trying to emulate the Onion.

      • Suzanne McFly November 17th, 2014 at 07:50

She is doing an outstanding job.

    • Tommy6860 November 16th, 2014 at 18:09

White people should be pleased with the results of his presidency performing economic and social equality magic. Maybe it’s true, just think Bush and why they don’t fear that utter failure!

The only magic powers black folks have is the ability to do jobs that for generations, we were told, we lacked the innate ability

NFL Quarterback, President of the United States, CEO of a Fortune 500 company etc. etc. we use our magic powers to earn and excel in these and a host of other of life’s endeavors.

Some may refer to our abilities as magic powers. In my family where we are all sane, we refer to those magic powers as intelligence, education and skill.

I like black people and white people and brown people and red people and yellow people and purple people and plaid people, all people except conservative people of any color.
Life would be so boring if we were all exactly alike but it would be awesome if all people were nice people.
