Jerk’s Gun Discharges In Hotel, Bullet Goes Through Wall, Kills 13-Year-old Boy
North Carolina police say a 13-year-old boy is dead after a gun discharged in a hotel room and the bullet went through a wall into another room, hitting the teen, ABC 11 reports.
42-year-old Randall Louis Vater has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The victim, an 8th grader, was identified as Nathan Andrew Clark of Lewisville, N.C.
Clark was in Raleigh to play in the Capital Area Soccer League (CASL) which has since been cancelled by his team.
Some of the kids on the team were also staying in the hotel when the incident happened, according to ABC 11.
CASL released the following statement:
“We awoke this morning with great sadness to the unsettling news that Nathan Clark tragically lost his life late Friday night. Our thoughts and prayers are with Nathan’s family and to his extended soccer family: the North Carolina Fusion players, parents, and coaches. We find some solace knowing that a man has been charged in connection with this incident. However, we can only imagine the pain and sorrow the Clark family is experiencing in the wake of this tragedy. We respect their wishes for privacy during this difficult time.”
Clark attended the Calvary Baptist Day School in Winston-Salem. He was described as fun loving, energetic, and brought a joy and a special spark to the soccer team, by his coach.
“Heaven gained an amazing young man today. Nathan will be greatly missed by the whole Calvary soccer family. We love you Nathan,” Coach Kerth said.

No you said there was a “FINE LINE” A felony conviction is a fine line? in addition, Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon is a federal crime punishable by 10 years in prison, and jumps to 20 years if the gun is used in a crime. Is that also a fine line?
Ol Blue November 15th, 2014 at 20:40
Your beloved NRA has dissolved it into a fine line. You may thank them for that.
“Support for Restoration Programs. Prohibited under
federal law from buying guns because of dangerous behavior? No problem,
the NRA believes in second chances. In 1986, the NRA-drafted Firearm
Owners Protection Act significantly altered federal law by allowing
states to restore gun purchasing/ownership rights to convicted felons.
Since that time, the NRA has lobbied aggressively
in the states to establish such restoration programs.Today, restoration
is automatic for non-violent felons in at least 11 states. Several
other states allow violent felons to petition to have their gun
purchasing/ownership rights restored.”

Everything to do with them! Thirty years of lobbying, lying and abusing the 2nd amendment led right to the point where some miscreant can carry a gun into a hotel and negligently kill a child. This is only the latest in a national epidemic of child murders that is blithely ignored by all who think they have some special rights to be armed anywhere, anytime, for any reason.
Allan Kim Harrison November 15th, 2014 at 19:36
The only people abusing the second amendment is the anti-gun zealots in this country.
