This is the world we live in, post-midterms. Democrats got their asses beat like rented donkeys by running away from President Obama, and are now convinced that they can
rescue Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) from the same fate by overruling the President on the Keystone XL Pipeline. The House
passed a new bill authorizing the pipeline today,
ingeniously engineered by Landrieu to bear the name of her opponent in the Louisiana Senate run-off, and will be taken up by the Senate next week. Like most of the Democrats’ plans, George Peppard is
not going to love this.
In advance of that House vote, MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell interviewed Congressman Mike Rogers (R-MI), who let loose a short but sweet burst of pro-Keystone nonsense that a third-grader would have had questions about. Good thing he was on a liberal network, so Mitchell could pounce… on the next subject…READ MORE

It is way past time for Andrea Mitchell to retire. Dementia has been setting in for awhile and it is starting to become embarrassing. I gave up on her a year ago, she sounds too much like a doddering old fool who used know a lot but has lost it and has been allowed to continue on only because of who she used to be. Sorry if that is mean but that sure is what it looks like to me.

Lets not forget Andrea Mitchell is married to Allen Greenspan…
I doubt if either of them have a passing thought about the common person, or the middle class.

The GOP doesn’t give a damn about this country…..just the money they can make anyway possible. They’ve sold their soul to the Devil! Koch’s!

I stayed quiet during the months leading up to the mid-terms because I was too busy working on voter turnout and felt it was important to stay unified as a party but when I read statements like “Democrats got their asses beat like rented donkeys by running away from President Obama,”I have to speak up. Democrats were defeated at the polls because politics is cyclical and in a two party system that favors the party not in power. All the finger pointing after the fact forgets this very basic rule of politics. It happened to Roosevelt, Eisenhower, and every other President who stayed in office long enough to see such a sea change. There are no exit polls showing any particular issue caused the GOP wave. The people have spoken . . . the idiots.

It is cyclic because voters don’t think mid-terms are as important as they really are and they want an excuse to be lazy.
mrsgunka November 14th, 2014 at 21:58
I think they are just so tired of this do-nothing Congress and not getting anything done and the attitude of the right-wingers talking and acting so radical since PBO came into office. They are acting like a bunch of spoiled kids and people are sick of the whole thing. One year of this campaigning and always asking for money but nothing has been done. They have blamed PBO for every bad thing that has happen for the last 14 years. People turn hate off. And that’s all we have heard by those hideous TV ads for a year. Koch has bought up everything and has the money to by our government. Why vote, Koch controls everything. Tell a lie often enough and most people will believe it. You break it – you bought it!

what do you think of the possibility of people staying away from the voters booth because they don’t want to be represented by idiotic millionaire’s or war hawks ?
Im noticing a lot of discontent with the limited # of candidates who don’t have 30 million to campaign
Dwendt44 November 14th, 2014 at 23:42
Let’s not under estimate the dark money, Citizens United, voter suppression, and the redistricting done by Republicans. Their base turned out, the Democrat’s base didn’t. Shame on them.

Someone needs to remind me why we, the United States, which is currently the worlds largest producer of oil needs to allow Canada to build a pipeline to send their oil to our refineries in the south, so they can sell it on he world market…
This is not going to benefit anyone but Trans-Canada and the people their lobbiest have paid off.
mrsgunka November 14th, 2014 at 22:07
Because Canada doesn’t want the filthy stuff leaking all over their land destroying their pristine environment!

These “tar sands” Canada is mining to produce oil is barely cost effective with the current price per barrel of oil hovering around 80+ US dollars per barrel..
The cost to mine this ‘tar sand’ and process it into product that can be pumped through a pipeline, and then refine it into a usable product is astronomical compared to traditional drill and pump methods.
edmeyer_able November 14th, 2014 at 22:13
I believe several years ago the military was banned from using it because of the pollution, a friend was looking into investing in it but backed out because of this fact.
Dwendt44 November 14th, 2014 at 23:39
If the Canadian company pays for the inevitable leaks and brakes, the cost goes up substantially. The toxic waste is the U.S.’s problem of course. Since most if not all of that tar sand oil is to be exported, it won’t have any real affect on our gas prices. It will only benefit the oil company’s bottom line. And the Koch brothers.

What is it with the fear of challenging these war mongering anti-environmental GOPers? Does she take journalistic counseling from her husband every morning before heading off to the Fox Lite Hour?

The KeystoneXL opened in 2010. But cancelling Big Oil’s KXL expansion costs ‘no more than 50 permanent jobs.’ Let Canada keep their acidic tar sands poison, refine it locally under Canada’s stricter environmental regulations and their cap and trade required offsets! There’s a win-win for everybody, only at the expense of Koch bozos speculation bribing congress. ‘Sorry Boehner your $30 M KXL option promises are now worthless:)’
