9-Year-Old Florida Girl Shoots 8-Year-Old Brother In The Head
An 8-year-old Florida boy was shot in the head Wednesday night by his 9-year-old sister (not pictured) with five children under the age of 10 home at the time.
The boy was flown to a children’s hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
According to WESH, their mother, 39-year-old Tonya Charles, often leaves the children unattended.
“It was inevitable that it was soon to happen,” Richard Farr said, a preacher and handyman said. “One time she was gone for two weeks at a time. One time the kids didn’t know where she was, nobody knew where she was, and finally she showed back up again.”
Police said they have not located Charles yet.
After the shooting, the children went to a neighbor’s house for help.
“I was watching TV. All of a sudden I hear like [a] firecracker and two seconds later I hear this kid screaming,” Zoraida Medina, a nearby neighbor said.
“How you going to have a gun loaded with small kids in the house? Why? Fine, you can have a gun in the house, but not loaded. I call that stupidity.”
While the older children were out, the child found her mother’s gun, according to investigators.
“Not to make an early assumption here, we don’t know what happened, but as an overall message things like this [are] the reason why it’s important to maintain your firearms and keep them put away and keep them out of reach,” Sgt. Chris Estes of the DeLand Police Department said.
Estes added that there is still an investigation underway they are not sure if anyone will be charged. So I assume they’ll be charging the gun then. Or the little girl for being subjected to her mother’s stupidity.
When a kid is “accidentally” shot in the head, an adult should face charges.

The more guns in society, the more likely incidents like this will occur.
That is not an anti-gun statement. That is not an anti 2nd amendment statement. It is reality.
The firearms fetishists who parade around WalMart should spend as much time advocating for safety as they do trying to show everyone that theirs is bigger than everyone else’s,

Another example of responsible gun ownership. Not.

watch and see it they don’t also do something to the little girl. Bet she will have a bed in juvi soon. And that would be one of the worse things they could do her.

That “Mother” should be arrested for negligent homicide and any minor children taken from her. That 9 year old little girl is going to need some attention that woman is incapable of giving. Such a preventable tragedy. What could that young man have contributed to the world in the future, we will never know. Shameful.

Another NRA sanctioned child gun injury. Thank’s NRA, for all your efforts in the population control arena. The world thanks you.

Have we reached zero population growth yet?
It amazes me that a lot of the same people who are pro guns everywhere and all the time are also “pro-life”. What does that even mean anymore…

It means they want the ability to control what other’s do so they can do whatever they want!

There’s a lot more going on here than just the gun. Those children need to be removed from that home entirely.
