Revealed: Ronald Reagan Apologized For America

Barack Obama gets falsely accused of apologizing for America, but a newly-released recording of a conversation between Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher reveals a contrite and apologetic Ronald Reagan.

“We regret very much the embarrassment that’s been caused to you,” the US leader said during the call.

Baroness Thatcher was angered that she was not consulted before the Americans invaded a Commonwealth state.

United States troops were sent to Grenada in 1983 to topple the Caribbean island’s Marxist regime.

While US forces were still in action, the president phoned Lady Thatcher to explain the action he had taken.

“If I were there, Margaret,” he said, “I’d throw my hat in the door before I came in.”

The saying refers to an Civil War-era practice in which a visitor might throw his hat in to a room before entering – if he was unwelcome, it might be thrown out again or even shot at.

“There’s no need for that,” Lady Thatcher replied.

Reagan continued: “We regret very much the embarrassment that’s been caused to you, and I would like to tell you what the story is from our end.”

Would-be president Mitt Romney once said: “I will not and I will never apologize for America. I don’t apologize for America, because I believe in America.” Factcheck.org goes through the various times President Obama “apologized” and concludes no such apologies ever occurred.

Fact Checkers have concluded that republicans lie 300% more than democrats and it is common knowledge all over the world that republicans are nothing but liars.

    Ray-Gun and Maggie.

Two idiots that did not give a damn about the people.

The majority of working class people in Britain have already forgot about Maggie.

I love it when a so called conservative wants to talk about Reagan. Reagan was the most non conservative President in my memory. He spent money like it was water, and when he ran out he went after social security. He did things that bordered lunacy, like re-commissioning obsolete WW II battleships (seven feet to the gallon) and the star wars debacle. Standing in front of a wall and spouting bluster doesn’t impress me a bit.
Holding up a spend crazy B movie actor as an example of “conservatism” is an indictment of the GOP, and their history of fiscal failure.
Even funnier, Reagan was an ardent supporter of unions.

They also like to go on and on about how corrupt the Obama administration supposedly is, and how that corruption reflects on President Obama, while conveniently ignoring the corruption of the Reagan administration. Of course conservatives would just brush away the indictments and convictions as a “liberal witch hunt.”

Sadly, I had to leave my home country and come to the U.S. to get away from the ravages of Thatcherism. I still hate her stinking guts for what she did to us.
