8:30amEST
Alan has a wrap-up of the undecided races. Even though MSNBC called Warner the apparent winner, Virginia remains officially uncalled, as does Alaska. Gubernatorial races in Vermont, Connecticut, and Colorado also have yet to be called officially.

Overnight

12:02amEST
MD-Gov: In usually-blue Maryland, Republican Larry Hogan is projected to win.

We’re calling it a night; still a few races to be determined. See y’all on hangover Wednesday.

More pizza.
IA-Sen: AP calls it for Republican hog castrator Joni Ernst. She has the phoniest, smarmiest laugh of this particular campaign season. She’ll be entertaining for the next six years – and not in a way that redounds well to the GOP.

Omaha World Herald projects that the Nebraska initiative to raise the minimum wage will pass.

9:37pmEST:
LA-Sen – Political junkies, rejoice!! MSNBC projects that the race is going to a runoff; Democrat Mary Landrieu and Republican Bill Cassidy will face off. This is one night I wish Dan Rather were anchoring… (CNN didn’t call it until 9:45pmEST.)

9:22pmEST:
OK-Gov – Republican Mary Fallin is projected to win.

9:15pmEST
NE-Gov – Republican Pete Ricketts is projected to win.

7:30pmEST: Two non-surprises.
WV-Sen – Republican Shelley Moore Capito projected to win.

SC-Sen Special Election – Republican Tim Scott projected to win.

7:19pmEST: MSNBC’s Ed Schultz is reporting that Florida gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist‘s campaign have filed a motion to extend voting hours in Broward County (can you say late polling place openings and the smell of voting machines “misbehaving”?). Schultz: “Neither side is talking about a victory… they have already surpassed the 2010 turnout!”

7:05pmEST: SC-Gov – No surprise, CNN projects Nikki Haley will be reelected.

You know it says a great deal about the voters in Ky, when McConnell blows out a female opponent. In his previous elections, they were all close elections against men and McConnell has never been popular. #MIsogyny

    Gardner make take CO.??

  6. arc99 November 4th, 2014 at 21:46

Remember boys and girls, every Senate seat won tonight will have to be defended in November 2020. That is also the election in which the President elected in 2016 will be seeking reelection.

I will leave it to my LL colleagues to form their own opinions and scenarios about what that means for long-term Democratic success.

    • tiredoftea November 4th, 2014 at 21:47

True, but we have to live through those years to change anything!

      • Obewon November 4th, 2014 at 21:53

Nationally and statewide GOP crooks don’t do very well in POTUS year elections:)

    • Tommy6860 November 4th, 2014 at 22:03

Well, it is going to be Hillary I am sure, but if she runs and wins (which would be a near given) in 2016, will she want to do the same thing at age 73 in 2020?

      • tracey marie November 4th, 2014 at 22:06

        warren could win after clinton

        • Tommy6860 November 4th, 2014 at 22:08

That’s who I really want in 2016 or Bernie.

          • tracey marie November 4th, 2014 at 22:09

Bernie has no cross over appeal, warren could be beat. All I want is a win, and then Dems will start winning states as well.

            • Tommy6860 November 4th, 2014 at 22:15

I think the problem for some dems and liberals, is the appeal. I care more about policies and social issues than I do the appeal of the candidate of choice.

              • tracey marie November 4th, 2014 at 22:16

If there is no appeal there is no win. I am being pragmatic, Hillary does not scare me she would be a good if not great President
