8:30amEST
Alan has a wrap-up of the undecided races. Even though MSNBC called Warner the apparent winner, Virginia remains officially uncalled, as does Alaska. Gubernatorial races in Vermont, Connecticut, and Colorado also have yet to be called officially.

Overnight
North Dakota “personhood” initiative has been defeated.

12:02amEST
MD-Gov: In usually-blue Maryland, Republican Larry Hogan is projected to win.
KS-Gov: In blood-red Kansas, Sam Brownback is projected to win by a mere 2% of the vote.
We’re calling it a night; still a few races to be determined. See y’all on hangover Wednesday.

11:58pmEST

More pizza.
IA-Sen: AP calls it for Republican hog castrator Joni Ernst. She has the phoniest, smarmiest laugh of this particular campaign season. She’ll be entertaining for the next six years – and not in a way that redounds well to the GOP.

Oy.

NH-Sen – MSNBC: Scott “Sore Loserman” Brown reportedly refusing to concede.

LA-Sen – Political junkies, rejoice!! MSNBC projects that the race is going to a runoff; Democrat Mary Landrieu and Republican Bill Cassidy will face off. This is one night I wish Dan Rather were anchoring… (CNN didn’t call it until 9:45pmEST.)

9:22pmEST:
OK-Gov – Republican Mary Fallin is projected to win.

9:15pmEST
NE-Gov – Republican Pete Ricketts is projected to win.

SD-Gov – Republican Dennis Daugaard wins.

8:58pmEST

TN-Gov – Incumbent Republican Bill Haslam projected to win.
High-profile members of Congress – AP calls it for Alan Grayson (FL-9), John Mica (FL-7) and Corrine Brown (FL-5)
Florida governor’s race is waaaay too close to call – this could be tonight’s white-knuckle race.

7:30pmEST: Two non-surprises.
WV-Sen – Republican Shelley Moore Capito projected to win.
OH-Gov – Republican John Kasich projected to win reelection. The Doc was predicting it would be called later in the evening. Oh, well…

7:25pmEST: Calls are beginning to trickle in from news services.
SC-Sen – Republican Lindsey Graham projected to win.
SC-Sen Special Election – Republican Tim Scott projected to win.

7:19pmEST: MSNBC’s Ed Schultz is reporting that Florida gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist‘s campaign have filed a motion to extend voting hours in Broward County (can you say late polling place openings and the smell of voting machines “misbehaving”?). Schultz: “Neither side is talking about a victory… they have already surpassed the 2010 turnout!”

7:05pmEST: SC-Gov – No surprise, CNN projects Nikki Haley will be reelected.

7pmEST: KY-Sen – CNN projects Mitch McConnell wins. Sadly, it looks like the final numbers will not even be close.

I just read that McConnell looks like the winner. What the f*cking f*ck?

I don’t know whether any rightie even knows he exists and the repub attack machine wouldn’t mention him for fear of getting off message. There are lefty’s who think we should keep quiet and pull the lever for Dems regardless, but I think he might have helped her. If she ever knew he existed!

        • KABoink_after_wingnut_hacker November 4th, 2014 at 19:28

She deliberately ran away from progressive & liberal successes whilst dividing her base and endorsing gun-nut lunacy.
In a way I’m glad this stupid, stupid, stupid woman will not be going to the Senate to represent Americans.

          • KB723 November 4th, 2014 at 19:30

I hear Ya, but if there is one thing I believe in wholeheartedly for both parties is ‘Term Limits’, I think it is worth talking about and many folks say leave it alone, another thing I want to know is this: If the retirement age is 65, should any official be allowed to run after this age???

          • tiredoftea November 4th, 2014 at 19:36

She was still a better choice than Mitch.

            • KABoink_after_wingnut_hacker November 4th, 2014 at 19:42

Agreed, but she’s still a loser who defeated herself, and would be of no use in office.
To me it’s the devil you know v/s the newbie who willfully sold herself out……in her own f’ing campaign!

              • tiredoftea November 4th, 2014 at 19:49

Well, her victory would have denied Mitch his prize and opened the Repubs to a vicious majority leader fight. And, it would have made a Repub Senate takeover that much more difficult. So, all things being equal, she was the better choice.

          • Anomaly 100 November 4th, 2014 at 20:27

No, not like her at all. You’re really being a jerk about the elections.

OK, I’ll be just like you. We trounced you in the last 2 presidential elections and you still have no one to run. Not even a semi-sane politician.

You wont be in the White House for years. Suck it up.

We’re polite enough to allow both sides of the aisle to weigh in and you have to be a total jerk about it. Congrats, you’re the biggest ass in this thread.
