Watch: Good Samartian Spots Man Attacking Elderly Woman And Takes Him Down Hard
A Navy veteran and a group of 10 people stopped an attack on a 76-year-old woman outside of a grocery store in Florida.
“What if that was my grandmother?” Taylor said.
Taylor explained that he was on his way to the gym when he saw 76-year-old Rosemary Carelton being attacked.
“She was screaming for help that’s when I went over to help her,” he said.
Taylor ran straight at him.
“When I looked down, I didn’t know if he had a knife or a gun. But I just saw the lady,” he said. “She was so old. And when he threw her down, she was so fragile and I knew she needed help.”
The suspect quickly ran away from Taylor and two other good samaritans.
A surveillance camera caught the incident on tape.
“When I finally got my hands on him, I just apprehended him, and I told some local people to call the police, and they got here and I kept him down,” he said.
The suspect, identified as 23-year-old John Desjardin, is already on probation and now he’s charged with attempted robbery and battery on a person over 65.
“He definitely should face some type of jail time. He has to know what he did was very wrong,” Taylor said.

Thank you for serving your country, sir, both in your uniform and in civilian life! (Thankfully when the FL cops arrived, they didn’t think YOU were the attacker!!)

I’m sure any teabagger who clicks on this and sees the picture will IMMEDIATELY think he was the perpetrator.

Good for him. But like in any situation, he put himself into a risky position. thankfully it all worked out well.

I’m sure he didn’t even think about himself. He just saw an elderly lady being attacked. Go Navy!

I am sure you are right. And thankfully we do have people like this in this world. It sometimes restores my faith in humanity.

He is fortunate that the “perp” did not have a weapon of some form.

Good Job well done.
good to see a good guy with out a gun taken the bad guy down. so its not the gun that makes you a good guy, its what inside you that makes the call.
Anomaly 100 November 3rd, 2014 at 10:29
Amen to that.
Also, how stupid was the perpetrator? He’s got this military vet standing right there on his way to the gym and he decides to assault a little ol’ lady.

Nice work, Shipmate!
And I don’t think the thug’s gonna like the reception he’s going to get when they throw his sorry butt back into the Crossbars Hotel (after the inmates finish laughing their asses off, of course)!
