Teacher Allegedly Overheard Saying She’d Kill All Black People If She Had Only 10 Days To Live
A teacher at Camden County High School in North Carolina is under investigation for allegedly making racist comments in a classroom. One parent, Kimberly Ashcraft, said the disturbing incident happened a couple weeks ago.
Her daughter told her of the conversation in question with math teacher Cynthia Ramsey, according to WAVY.
“That’s when she conveyed to me that Mrs. Ramsey had indicated that if she only had 10 days to live that she would kill all black people,” Ashcraft said.
Ashcraft’s daughter was in Ramsey’s classroom eating lunch and there were several others students around when the teacher allegedly made the disturbing remarks.
“I was completely shocked,” Ashcraft said. “I asked her again, ‘are you sure that was what you heard?’ I could not have imagined a teacher saying that.”
Ramsey doesn’t just teach math at the school. She’s also head of the math department.
“I conveyed to my daughter that this is a very serious allegation and I need confirmation that this did happen,” Ashcraft said.
After School officials and the Camden County Sheriff’s Office investigated, they found that several of the students told the same story.
Ramsey was placed on suspension with pay, and after a couple days was back in the classroom, WAVY reports.
“I was very disappointed to hear that she was back in the classroom so soon,” Ashcraft said.
Superintendent Melvin Hawkins said in a statement:
At this point, our main concern is to investigate this incident thoroughly, and collect the facts. This is a personnel issue, and it is confidential until resolved. We are following protocol in this investigation and student and school employee investigations are confidential.
According to Camden County Sheriff Tony Perry, evidence has been turned over to the district attorney, who will decide if the teacher should face charges.
“As a parent, I felt compelled to come forward and tell somebody, because this was not only in my opinion a direct threat to the black children in the school, but also black people in the community,” Ashcraft said.

I can’t understand how anyone holding the position of a teacher could hate that much. As going from one adult to another, I can take hate speech and reconcile it and even defend against it. But when it’s around children, especially those who would be most affected by this, it makes me :'( :'(.
I am really hoping this is no more than being “alleged”.

Don’t assume this teacher is guilty. This story seems really unlikely.
Of course, a teacher can be racist. But I can’t imagine a teacher saying something like this in front of students. Surely, she knew it would get her fired.
But can you imagine several students making up the same story to get a teacher fired? I can.

It’s more like she’s saying ‘I’m a WHITE Southern Conservative Christian Republican that voted for Romney ’cause he’s the best of the best that WHITE Southern CONservative Republicans can come up with’.
Probably because she hates Islands and is desperate for some substantial Terra firma that is capable of substantial consolidated weight movement. It would explain why she don’t cotton too well to Islanders as much as she cottons to mainlanders.

Here is not what is sitting well with this story. And I understand it is the only news article out there, but here it is anyways.
1) This allegedly happened inside of a classroom, where the girl was eating her lunch and overheard the teacher say this.
* Who was she saying this to ??
* Did she just blurt this out as if she ad turrets syndrome ??
2) She was suspended with pay, but has since been reinstated to the classroom.
* Why ??? If this was so easily collaborated, why would they put her back in a classroom?
3) Evidence has been turned over to the district attorney to see if charges would be filed?
* For what ?? There is no illegal activity here. Last I heard, expressing a thought is not a crime. This would be more of an administrative action from the school board.
4) The mother felt it was a possible threat towards the black students in the school, as well as members of the community.
* HUH ????? What threat is there ???
5) This appears to be a long time teacher and a person of some authority.
* Somehow, this just does not strike me as a position or opinion a long time educator would have. But I could be wrong.
I have a feeling, that when this is all said and done. We are going to find out it is the mother who has a beef with the teacher, and this is payback…

I’m not saying she did or didn’t do what she’s being accused of, I wasn’t there. I will say that if you’ve read some Arthur Miller ( if you went to high school in the 80’ds trust me you did) you know we should hold off lighting our torches until we can get irrefutable proof.

the teacher made the comment in her classroom during lunch. all the students were hite and besides the first young girl to speak up, several more backed up the story in it’s entirity. The teacher has refused to answer any questions either denying or admitting .

Do I think this woman said these things…Probably. Is there a tape or video of it…no. Many people both black and white have been accused of such terrible statements, remember the whole Lauren Hill thing a few years back?

I went hunting for articles on this. There are so many, most with the twist from the writer. I tend to believe it happened, she was with all white students and i do believe she thought it would be accepted. My take.
