Sen John Cornyn Tweets Joke About Voter ID, Doesn’t Go Down Well
Senator John Cornyn (R) took to Twitter to make a jokey joke about the voter ID law, because it’s such a funny matter to disenfranchise eligible voters.
In fact, Georgia’s have a really good time with suppressing the vote, to the tune of 50,000 residents, the majority of them being people of color in Democratic-leaning regions.
The voter ID law is transparent if your eyes are open.
Cornyn tweeted, “Wife lost wallet and ID so must wait to get new ID tomorrow; part of vast right wing conspiracy to suppress the conservative vote.”

For people like Senator Cornyn and his wife, getting access to a birth certificate or paying a fee to get a driver’s license replaced doesn’t seem like that big of a deal. As a matter of fact, for them, it is a joke. But for 600,000 Texans who will not be able to vote in this incredibly important election, there is nothing funny here at all.
This past week, a 93-year-old veteran inTexas was denied his right to vote. I’ll bet that just cracks Cornyn up.

For those Texans without proper ID please still vote with a provisional ballot. The more provisional ballots, the more we can show discrimination and force Texas into preclearance. Texas politicians and the GOP should not be allowed to make rules on who should vote and not vote because they are clearly willing to discriminate. Every provisional ballot can be treated as evidence. Vote regardless of what they say you can or can not do.

And the wife of a senator probably doesn’t have to work, so she has plenty of free time to get a new license, unlike the majority of workers, who may not get paid for the time they spend at DMV. Or they could join the throngs on Saturday morning and spend a few hours that way.

The Tealaban can do a lot of damage that will be difficult and time consuming to correct in that time.
Even if Democrats retake the House, the Rabid right will still have enough Senators to obstruct, block and delay any corrective laws or appointments.

Perhaps if our Senate leadership wouldn’t do something as idiotic as a “Gentleman’s agreement” with the likes of “TURDle face” (Thank you Harry Reid), steeled their spine, and made better decisions regarding the filibuster.. we might not have so much obstructionism… (maybe)
I wonder what kind of changes the “Tortuga” would make, if he became Majority Leader in the Senate? Perhaps some changes to the “filibuster?”
I have to cling, to ANY hope that Dem’s, will show up and vote in record numbers and put an end to “Democrats have low voter turnout during the mid-term elections…

You echo what demographics reflect…the age of old rich white men ruling is coming to an end.. the 7 and under cohort are 50+ minority ….10+ years they will be voting…this isn’t a western state issue but nation wide.
