Republican Makes Joke Saying Wendy Davis Is Going To Hell, Greg Abbott And Supporters Clap And Cheer
Republicans are such jokey jokesters. We just laugh and laugh at their jokes all day long. Case in point: A Republican State Representative made a joke about Wendy Davis going to hell. Are you LOLing yet, because Greg Abbott and a roomful of supporters did.
On Saturday, Abbott and GOP attorney general nominee Ken Paxton were campaigning at a Tex-Mex restaurant in Frisco.
The Dallas News reports, “Abbott was introduced by Frisco state Rep. Pat Fallon, who opened with a joke in which Wendy Davis visits a grade school and sees a boy reading a book about whales.”
Here’s the joke:
The first grader asks Davis how many people could fit in the stomach of the whale. Davis says none, the whale’s throat is too small. But the boy asks about Jonah, wasn’t he swallowed by a whale?
When Davis repeats that nobody could be swallowed by a whale, the boy declares that when he gets to heaven, he’ll ask Jonah personally.
Fallon then quoted Davis, “Well, what if Jonah went to hell?” drawing groans from the supporters at the rally.
“Then the little boy said, ‘Well, Ms. Davis, you can ask him,’” Fallon quipped.
Abbott, who was next to Fallon, laughed and the supporters clapped and cheered.
Abbott campaign spokeswoman Amelia Chasse distanced the GOP nominee from the joke. “While clearly intended to be humorous, the comment was inappropriate and should not have been made,” she said.
But Abbott himself seemed tickled by the joke.

“Sources say” that next week, those stumping for Abbott (maybe Ted Nugent, who knows) will pull the wings off of flies for a real laugh. The stop after that will be the Abbott campaign going to an animal kill shelter and laughing about the dogs on death row.
Wendy Davis made what she saw as a compassionate choice by getting an abortion. A spokesperson for Texas Right to Life called “the value of life precious” but nevertheless also stated, “Our heart goes out for the decision she had to make.”
That decision is not anyone else’s business and it’s certainly not a laughing matter.

If Abbott wins the election, there will only be one good thing about it. He will be the last republican Governor elected in Texas for a long time. I am really hoping Perry is the last but corruption in government seems to be more important in Texas.

Not as much as they used to. One thing Perry did accomplish was to put more power in the governorship position. Right now though one really big thing a democratic governor like Davis could do is expand medicaid in Texas. That would be huge.

Don Young has been stepping in poo and setting it on fire too–let’s hope that Forrest Dunbar can pull it off and retire him. Young is an embarrassment.
