Open Carry March In St. Louis Didn’t Go Down Well, Met With Awesome Counter Protesters
An Open Carry group marched today in St. Louis, with the full intention of being being given a citation in order to take their case to court, thus ridding the state of any implementation of gun sense laws. The group takes issue with a bill which they feel (but they aren’t sure) suggests that carrying a weapon would require a permit and training and somehow that’s a bad thing.
The armed group of Open Carry supporters met head-on with St. Louis protesters and things didn’t work out in their favor.
Echoing the die-ins during the Bush administration’s invasion of Iraq, this protester was dead on arrival so to speak, with an Open Carry advocate standing over him.
A picture is worth a thousand words.
Armed Open Carry protesters headed toward a park filled with unarmed black protesters. This is reminiscent of the unarmed black Ferguson teenager who was killed by the hands of a police officer
It doesn’t look like the St. Louis protesters were happy to see the armed group of middle ages white men.
That worked out swimmingly. Thanks to the Open Carry groups for highlighting their blatant disregard for those around them.
H/T: The amazing @ActUpSpeakOut (aka: Demanda Evers) with my thanks.

LOL. Thank you for providing me an opportunity to tell this story. When I was visiting Anomaly last Aug, there was a story about a guy that offered to buy the world drinks (on twitter) if Michael Sam sacked the quarterback and then made the money sign (on the field) It was very cute.
So Anomaly asked me “what’s sacking the quarterback?” Once I recovered from the shock that there were people out there that didn’t know football – I started to explain. I said “okay, you know what the line of scrimmage is….” She looks up and deadpans – never mind. Is the tweet story funny?
I replied yes, and she ran the post.

I know I’m not the first to say this–if they keep it up, they will probably guarantee that we will get some sane gun laws. What I think is funny is that when these guys get busted for something, the authorities usually find that they have been disqualified from owning firearms for one reason or another and so were carrying illegally. It’s akin to the rabidly anti-gay legislators who are constantly getting caught doing the wide stance in a public restroom…
KKaren Barnette October 25th, 2014 at 23:37
What did these gun owners do so bad? Did they riot or assault people or loot or burn? No that was the Ferguson so called protesters.
Carla Akins October 25th, 2014 at 23:52
They used their 2nd amendment right to intimidate others. Their firearms weren’t required or needed for any purpose and it’s not their job to “educate” the public.
I will say this one time. The protestors in Ferguson have a legal right to protest, and they certainly have sufficient reason to engage in such protest. It’s the very fabric our country is built on – what do you think all that tea in the harbor was about?
The looting/rioting was done by a few people, almost all of them from outside of Ferguson. There are criminals everywhere willing to take advantage of a bad situation. It most certainly is not a reason to abandon a righteous cause.
These two events have nothing in common, one is a group of people seeking attention for a right they already have built into the constitution. The other is fed up with a lack of adequate and fair representation and violations of their civil rights. Hmm, sounds just like that tea in the harbor thing.

Carla Akins October 25th, 2014 at 23:56
No one stated they were liberals, just peaceful protestors highlighting an unjust system. Please provide me with a source that liberals rioted, burned and threw things at the police. My understanding was these were criminals, not from Ferguson and were arrested. I saw nothing of these criminals identifying themselves as Liberals.
Carla Akins October 25th, 2014 at 23:58
Also, what were these peaceful (not intimidating/brandishing people protesting? The right to bear arms – they have it already and always have.
Colin Thomas Matlock October 26th, 2014 at 21:56
……. well it wasn’t a protest of anything it was a gathering of like minded individuals exercising their rights and educating others about them. Gun owners are apparently such evil people yet our gathering and walk involved no incidents, no one was shot or assaulted, all firearms were holstered or slung, no streets were shutdown, nothing
Carla Akins October 27th, 2014 at 05:13
Evidently they are evil people if they (you) feel that exercising your 2nd amendment right is more important than having and showing compassion and consideration for a community in pain.
Sure, you can do it but to what end? To show what a complete asshole you are, to mock the issues of minorities? You’re a “real man” showing how tough you are, educating the masses. I mean, it worked so well for John Crawford.

“So it is ok for liberals to riot, burn, throw things at cops”
Could you please post a link to the specific riot and proof of the political persuasion of the participants?
Thanx in advance.

A real Drama Queen aren’t ya? lol Just for my info what do you consider the white trash that caused a riot in New Hampshire the other week destroying other people’s property? Go to Breitbart’s site you’d fit right in with the other low info types that also aren’t accustomed to reading much.

So it is ok for liberals to riot, burn, throw things at cops, but legal peaceful gun owners can’t have a peaceful demonstration? What a hypocrite you are.

…you forgot a “K”…KKKaren…
there…fixed!
Kingminnie October 25th, 2014 at 23:54
Puhleese. Shove that right where it belongs. What an idiotic comment. Seriously, you ridiculous gun lovers want to be taken seriously, stop saying things like this where you think you have more rights that others. Just stop.
