Marysville Pilchuck School Shooter Identified As 14-Year-Old Jaylen Fryberg
The shooter at Marysville Pilchuck High School in Washington has been identified by family members. The 14-year-old was a freshman at the school. Jaylen Fryberg walked into the school’s cafeteria shortly before 11 a.m. and opened fire.
In total, two are reportedly dead including the shooter, and his victim was a female. Four others are injured. It’s not clear if the deceased female victim was a staff member or a student, but a student at the school told the Seattle Times that the “shooter was angry at a girl who would not date him, and that the girl was one of the people shot.”
According to KIRO, Police believe the 14-year-old used a .40-caliber Beretta handgun. Investigators are performing a trace to the place of purchase.
Fryberg sent out a Tweet on Thursday that said “It won’t last…it will never last.”

That was the teenager’s last tweet.
According to a source, Fryberg had been suspended from school last week for being involved in a fight, and a close friend said he had been bullied.
KIRO reports:
A crossfit coach at the school described Fryberg as happy-go-lucky and ambituous. He was a member of the Tulalip Tribe. A fellow student said Fryberg seemed happy and was talking to other students a few hours before the shooting.
Police did not yet know whether the victim who died in the shooting was a student or staff member.Four victims, two young females and two young males, arrived at Providence Regional Hospital with gunshot wounds. Three had gunshot wounds to the head and are in critical condition. The fourth victim, a 14-year-old boy, was transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he is in intensive care in serious condition with a gunshot wound to the jaw.
A Harborview spokesperson said the boy would survive.
In a country where school shootings never happen far too much, the people in the town are stunned. Di Andres, whose 17-year-old son is a student at the school, said her son texted her about the shooting.
“He said that the school has been in lockdown and he’s been hiding in a closet in a classroom with some classmates,” she said.. “As far as we know, he’s okay and safe with those other classmates.”
President Obama has been briefed on the situation.
It’s shit like this as to why we can’t have a discussion on gun laws:

Thanks, NRA, for making double-darn sure that this issue is never dealt with in a rational manner. Thanks also to the NRAs sock puppets in Congress who will not allow the CDC to investigate a health issue that kills over 11,000 Americans intentionally, and no telling how many more by “accident” because of course we’re not allowed to have that information thanks to the NRA.
And as for guys killing women who won’t have sex with them–FUCK OFF! Women do not owe you a damned thing. They especially don’t owe you sex. What the hell is wrong with us that these guys think that they are entitled to just go pick out a woman, club her over the head and drag her off to have sex?

I’m feeling smug–I voted already. The clerk told me that they are getting more early voting than usual. 100 people voted in a day and a half–out of a voting population of maybe 8,000-10,000. Our turnout percent usually isn’t that high, so 100 early voters is a lot for here.
