Ted Cruz: It’s Obama’s Fault Republicans Left America Without A Surgeon General To Address Ebola
On CNN, host Candy Crowley on Sunday interviewed Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and asked about how the sequester hurt funding for the Centers for Disease Control and how the National Rifle Association’s opposition to President Obama’s nominee for surgeon general, Dr. Vivek Murthy, also hurt the response to the Ebola virus.
“We haven’t had a Surgeon General — who is the nation’s leading public health official, at least the voice of it — for a year. Some Democrats and some Republicans had opposed the particular surgeon general the president had nominated. Do you think it would have helped,” Crowley remarked.
“Of course we should have a surgeon general in place,” Cruz said.. “And we don’t have one because President Obama, instead of nominating a health professional, he nominated someone who is an anti-gun activist.”
“And a doctor,” Crowley said.
Cruz said that while it’s true Murphy is a doctor, he’s also a “crusader against second amendment rights.”
The NRA, the nation’s largest gun rights lobby, has continually refused to allow any measures to implement gun sense laws even to the point of leaving this country without a surgeon general — but it’s Obama’s fault somehow.

i’m so sick of hearing the word “fault” that i don’t even use it in my vocabulary anymore. i mean what’s the point of its usage, i don’t even know when to use it.

Ted Cruz, man about town, is afraid of a doctor. All the man has said, is he thinks MD’s should be able to ask if there are guns in a home. How many suicides might that question stop? How many murder-suicides might that question stop? Maybe one should be good enough. I have had a doctor ask me this question and I never thought anything about it until I read Dr.Murthy nomination was held up by the NRA, who basically owns the GOP. Why does the media always ask what Ted Cruz thinks? He has the same answer for every question: It’s Obama’s fault.

This is one of those guys about who you don’t know what is worse;
That he actually believes his hooey, or that he knows better but says it anyway to pander to a niche audience.

He believes he’s the smartest one in the room, which of course means he’s not. And he believes voters are stupid, hence his act. Meanwhile, unless Goldman Sachs health insurance doesn’t cover Ebola, he’s got his.
