How do you deal with Ebola panic and GOP incompetence in one fell swoop? Let Howard Dean show you how, courtesy of the good folks o’er at Crooks & Liars. In just over three minutes, Dr. Dean manages to convey a shopping list of robust talking points:

  • The GOP is obstructing approval of a Surgeon General
  • The NRA are now the GOP’s medical lobbyists
  • The GOP agenda is politics above health
  • The CDC is right in using NIH hospitals instead of community hospitals
  • Texas Presby (as opposed to NIH and CDC) made mistakes
  • The travel ban is “bubkus”
  • “Rick Perry is an ignoramus… doesn’t know anything”
  • “This [ebola outbreak] is largely under control, as you said.”

Note to Democratic candidates and pols: this is how it’s done. Watch, and learn!

David Hirsch, a.k.a. Dave "Doctor" Gonzo*, is a renegade record producer, video producer, writer, reformed corporate shill, and still-registered lobbyist for non-one-percenter performing artists and musicians. He lives in a heavily fortified compound in one of Manhattan's less trendy neighborhoods.

* Hirsch is the third person to use the pseudonym, a not-so-veiled tribute to journalist and author Hunter S. Thompson, with the permission of his predecessors Gene Gaudette of American Politics Journal (currently webmaster and chief bottlewasher at Liberaland) and Stephen Meese at Smashmouth Politics.

What, he didn’t end with a “YYYYYYEEEEEAAAAHHHHHHH!!!”?

    • Mainah October 18th, 2014 at 14:36

He frightened me when he was running in 2004. All that screaming seemed really wacko.

Lol… I still remember that moment and cringe every time I hear his name or see him.
Such a hard image to move past.

I feel bad for him, since the video was kind of out of context… in that you couldn’t hear the crowd and it was just a direct feed from his mic.
It turns out the crowd was cheering really loud and he was just riding the wave… but to all of us, he just seemed like some crazy guy auditioning for the role of Doc Brown.

Yeah, you think he’s wonderful now, but you’re so shallow you let one expression of exuberance take him out of the running for the White House, and we got frigging KERRY instead. Who then lost.

    Thanks a lot.

Then again I can’t expect any better from people who felt threatened by Ralph Nader.

I consider myself a political leftie but I feel so abandoned by the mainstream “liberal” establishment, more often than not.
