Rand Paul: You Can Catch Ebola At A Cocktail Party

Posted by | October 16, 2014 21:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Top Stories

Rand Paul, the eye doctor turned Republican Kentucky Senator, weighed in on the Ebola virus, which is like going to a foot doctor when you have stomach pains.

“[The Obama administration] has downplayed how transmissible it is,” Paul told CNN on Thursday morning. “They say it’s the exchange of bodily of fluids. Which makes people think, ‘Oh, it’s like AIDS. It’s very difficult to catch.'”

“If someone has Ebola at a cocktail party they’re contagious and you can catch it from them,” Paul continued. “[The administration] should be honest about that.”

A Twitter user weighs in:

I think you’re safe, Rand.

Unless you’re swapping fluids with someone at a party – someone who has cared for an Ebola patient – then you’re safe. Ebola is not spread through the air like the flu. Oh, won’t flu season be fun this year with Ebola hysteria on the rise? One has to wonder what kind of fluid-swapping parties Rand Paul attends.

I don’t care, just as long as I can’t catch conservatism at a cocktail party….

    Best Ebola one-liner yet:

    Tina Dupuy
@TinaDupuy… So far every case of Ebola in this country got it by helping people. So relax, Republicans, you’re in the clear.

At a close second, my favorite barista passed this along today, “Want to hear an Ebola joke?” … (dramatic pause) … you probably wouldn’t get it.”

How many cocktails parties will he host or attend for his candidacy for president?

    • greenfloyd October 17th, 2014 at 00:02

Not sure about actual number. However you can bet it will be in direct proportion to how many Ebola cases emerge out of this misguided “no ban” mentality Obama clings to.

Ok Rand you better go hide under your bed and quit this silly idea of running for President and also being a Senator. The risk are high you might turn up at a cocktail party and then get Ebola, or go to Pat Robertson’s house and get AIDS from his toilet seat.
Now does Libertarians seem to be friends of Liberals? I sure never thought they were.

This sounds suspiciously like “Green Eggs and Ham”
You can catch it on a plane
You can catch it on a train
You can catch it with a fox
You can catch it in a box
    You can catch ebola, man
You can catch it, Sam I Am
