It will probably continue to fall for awhile to as the healthcare industry continues to ramp up because of the ACA and the ebola virus.

the more any news event reflects positively on the President, the more attention corporate media devotes to the President’s critics and events which reflect negatively on him. So I expect that the news of jobless claims dropping to the lowest levels in a decade and a half, will quickly disappear with no shortage of right wing pundits explaining why the numbers are meaningless and if anything are another sign of the President’s “failures” which will doom our mighty republic.
It does not surprise me that people who believe in death panels, fake birth certificates, and FEMA reeducation camps and think that climate change is a scam being perpetrated by the evil genius Al Gore, believe in the fairy tale of the liberal media.
It does surprise me that the myth of the liberal media in the form of the major broadcast networks and newspapers is able to persist, despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary which we see on a daily basis.
Take a look at an example of what actual liberal media looks like. If CNN or the NY Times looked like this, then it might be accurate to refer to them as liberal media. Otherwise, CNN and the NYT fall squarely into the corporate category, not liberal.

WHITE WATER BLACK GOLD
White Water Black Gold follows adventurer David Lavallee on his three-year journey across Western Canada in search of the truth about the impact of the world’s thirstiest and dirtiest oil industry — Canada’s Tar Sands, source of oil for the proposed Keystone Pipeline. This film is a sober look at the untold human and environmental costs associated with developing this major oil deposit.

How much of these lower job claims is accounted for by discouraged former workers who have given up their searches?

Spoken like a true gopee member.. Unless THEY are the ones releasing the numbers… Please find a new song this one is sooooooooo tired
How about a quick rendition of Benghazi Nights?????

Sorry, sport. It’s a valid question that uncovers the true state of an economy bled dry by the largest corporations that have been primarily doing their hiring overseas.
Congress has not addressed it and Obama can’t/hasn’t/won’t do much to help the long term unemployed who have given up and have gone through their savings, investments and retirement accounts.
Does that sound like a rightie to you?

Congress has a one word vocabulary NO The most usless congress in history thanks to a gopee that think bipartisanship is a dirty word!

tired has a valid complaint, but the same computation methods have been in use since the late 50’s. Reagan’s Administration added the US Military after breaking up the Air Traffic Controllers Union (a preliminary precaution to the C-130 Military Cargo Drug Smuggling) . If you added today’s drug smugglers to the full employment list, the economy would look even better.

It goes back as long as the statistic existed and always sung in High C by the party not in power
