Mother Tries To Kill Her Daughters To Send Them Home To ‘Meet Jesus Christ’

An Illinois woman who is accused of trying to kill her three children, told police she was sending her daughters to meet Jesus Christ, according to court records, the Sun Times reports.

When Montgomery police arrived after receiving two hang up calls, the children were dressed all in white.

Police said 47-year-old Pamela J. Christensen answered the door wearing a white shirt which was covered in blood.

Christenson then got down on her knees and told the police she had tried to kill her children.

When the police checked on the girls upstairs, they found that two of them were suffering from stab wounds to the chest.

According to records, Christensen had also stabbed herself in the chest and abdomen.

Police said Christensen told officers that she was sending the girls home to “meet Jesus Christ.”

According to what the three girls, ages 12, 16 and 19, told police, their mother held a knife to them and asked them if they accepted Jesus Christ as their savior.

A poisonous liquid in the home’s kitchen was discovered by police. The mother said she had concocted the mixture out of dishwashing detergent in an attempt to subdue her children in hopes the kids would fall asleep so she could stab them.

The children refused to ingest the poison, according to police.

Police said they also  found a cell phone belonging to the mother. Christensen told officers that her husband, Vaughn Christensen — a former pastor — had left messages on the phone telling his wife that the world was ending, and that she needed to prepare the family to meet Jesus.

A month ago, Christensen filed an order of protection against her husband.  According to the woman, the two were going through a divorce, and Vaughn Christensen had become increasingly violent toward her and the children.

The order stated that Vaughn Christensen had become “increasingly erratic” over the last seven months, and had threatened to harm himself and the kids. She wrote that he mentioned wanting to die on several occasions.

There have been several suicide incidents during the past year at the home which police have responded to.

Christensen faces three counts each of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery and aggravated unlawful restraint — all felonies, police said in a statement. Her bail was set at $1 million on Thursday. She is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 16, according to the paper.

Montgomery Police Chief Daniel Meyers said the children are now in the custody of Christensen’s father, because it “was determined by the court” to be “ the best place for the kids at this time.”

The three girls were taken to an area hospital for treatment, and released with minor injuries.

Religious psychosis is the number one, most often exhibited symptom of mental illness but because religion is a scared cow no one is allowed to even question it much less try to treat it.

It is the religious nutjob’s right to be sick and dangerous as long as they can hide that illness behind their exulted religion no matter who they hurt in the process.

I personally know several people who ‘caught religion’ as an adult and went insane. One killed herself, one tried to kill his son whom he thought had a demon in him, one ended up homeless, wandering the red light district swinging a bible at passersby, when he became a drug addict at the age of 47 and ran off with a crack ho that he claimed he was ministering to and no one has seen him in years. The last ran off all her friends and family with her holy rolly BS and moved several times trying to find people just as crazy as she was and when she would, she would piss them off too. Her only child finally had to come back from the military and put her in a home.

None of those people were religious or even went to church in their early years, they were completely normal until … I don’t know which came first, religion or mental illness but they started acting weird. It was not slow either, they got religion and went off the rails in a matter of months.

This is a real problem, religiosity masks insanity and you can’t treat the insanity without eliminating the religiousity. Just look at Andrea Yeats, the first thing she did after she went into treatment was ask to go to church and they let her!!

I agree, religion gets a free pass to be immoral.
