Low Ranking Air Force Retiree: ISIS ‘An Entirely Empty Threat’
President Obama recently admitted that the United States underestimated the growth of ISIS. Since then, one can easily assume that the full weight of our intelligence and law enforcement communities, military advisers up to and including the Joint Chiefs of Staff and foreign policy specialists are on the job.
Reports have arisen that ISIS is calling for western “lone wolf” followers carry out terrorist attacks, particularly against service men and women. The FBI and Homeland Security issued a warning in a hearing before Congress. All threats of this nature are, of course, taken seriously.
Not to worry. Brian Kolfage, a retired Senior Airman, has decided that the threat is an empty one and that ISIS is a “paper tiger”. Good news everyone. Brian Kolfage, the Air Force equivalent to Corporal Klinger in rank and because such imagery makes me chuckle, has assessed the threat and found it wanting.
In an interview with Sons of Liberty, Kolfage was quoted:
“I think it’s just an empty threat. What these people want to do is invoke fear. They just shoot their mouth off and that’s what they do best…Members of our military are trained to fight and trained to kill. Some Islamic wannabe terrorist[s] are not going to be matched up if they’re going to try and do something to a veteran because I’m sure a majority of them are armed and would have no problem taking them out.”
I’m inclined to believe that the veterans and military families of this country will take heed of this very real threat despite what Brian Kolfage says. The rest of his interview was filled with more insight into his advice:
“We’re wasting our resources over there. We’re spending like $10 Billion a day bombing them when our own border is wide open. They can just come over anytime they want. Even someone with ebola can just walk right through the border if they want. There’s so many failures going on that might catastrophically bite us in the ass one day.”
Yes, we might invade a country for profit and create a terrorist threat that didn’t exist that will one day make the terrorist threat we should have been focusing on look like child’s play. Especially interesting was his claim that we’re spending $10 Billion a day. It doesn’t matter that Kolfage doesn’t know how much we’ve really spent; he’s extremely confident that he knows or can guess at things like real statistics and information. Despite previous warnings that ISIS is coming across those open borders he loves to talk about, it’s all about ebola and catastrophic failures…somehow.
Here’s a little dose of reality. Brian has peviously gone into a frenzy over the posting of his beautiful baby daughter, claiming that her safety had been compromised. The picture was taken from a post on his own public page. In his anger and search for hate where none should exist Brian has blinded himself to his own hypocrisy by posting a story about the threat. The threat warnings are very real. I hope for his sake he takes the necessary precautions, as a veteran and therefore a target, to keep his family safe.

The only way to retire as a Senior Airman is medically. And since the grade is E-4, he didn’t spend much time in the Air Force. Exactly why is anyone, even a RWNJ group, even talking to him?
Geff Thompson October 5th, 2014 at 00:40
Because RWNJ’s are desperate to find anyone that will agree with them.
Tammy Minton Haley October 5th, 2014 at 00:44
right? doesn’t one make E-4 within one’s first enlistment? usually, what? 2-4 years?
my dad was 20 years retired, my ex was in for 12…i was a military dependent for 36 years…
Larry Schmitt October 5th, 2014 at 06:40
Yes, normally if you can’t get to SRA within four years, you’re gone. When there was still a separate rank of Sgt (still E-4, but an NCO), there were some with more than four years. But not as an SRA.
rg9rts October 5th, 2014 at 07:52
In the good old days we were Sgts. a way for the USAF to pass on the responsibilities that was an NCO’s without a raise in pay.. Also at that time it was difficult to make rank and E5 under four was a rarity, not the rule….I saw too many men retire as E5’s because there were no promotions in their career field.
Larry Schmitt October 5th, 2014 at 08:04
Now they won’t let you stay in long enough to retire as an E-5. If you can’t make E-6, you’re gone.

Kolfage has lied about being an adulterer, he’s lied about when he enlisted, he’s lied about when he was wounded, he’s told at least three different versions of HOW he was wounded, he’s lied about being a plagiarist – So tell this veteran, how does the fact of his *incidental wounding* (while serving as a customs inspector) make him qualified as an expert on foreign policy or military affairs?

Are you suggesting that anytime this man is mentioned, it should also be said that he’s an amputee? He’s still a wingnut and that’s widely known on Facebook, as is his loss of limbs.
rg9rts October 5th, 2014 at 08:50
Not at all …it is why he was retired…medically unfit for active duty…this then applies to his pension and medical benefits. The issue was the rank he was at when retired. E4 is an rarity except for special circumstances as happened here.
BustaTroll October 5th, 2014 at 08:47
I have repeatedly thanked the Senior Airman for his service. His story is amazing and inspirational. Unfortunately Brian feels as though his injuries need to be at the forefront of every issue. He lost his limbs is what you’ll say when I disagree with his stance on Benghazi. He’s the most severely wounded veteran of the Air Force (which is actually Red Mosely) is what you’ll post everywhere when I disagree with his analysis of a fluid security situation that he obviously knows nothing about.
I have given Brian the respect he is due for his service and his wounds…I don’t feel the need to post it every time, and when you’re volunteering material for a page like Liberaland there are actual editors who remove excess verbiage. I linked WAW as well as the SOL interview, both of which have Brian’s story in plain sight.
I’m not your average troll, Senior. I haven’t been involved in any of the things that are currently floating around Federal Court. I sent the goatz once from a page that has since been disabled. I Don’t agree with Brian’s actions or his politics, and as a public figure he is under the microscope.
And yes, he was low ranking, please see the picture of Corporal Klinger, his Army equivalent.
Oh, and the “Christopher Blair” thing is posted in the bio right up there ^^. I have no reason to hide, you can stop pretending you’re onto some inside classified information.
Please stop telling everyone he’s disabled and why in every post. It’s not a get out of jail free card, its an inspiring story tragically lost in translation…
You want it to be about that, and it isn’t…It’s about a Facebook page and the things posted there,,,Lighten up…

You are ignorant I have no tome for fools like you
Brian Kolfage Sr. October 5th, 2014 at 09:11
Chris. The label “The Most Severely Injured Airman To Survive Any War” Was the DOD and the USAF’s doings in 2004. Are you qualified to dispute whether Red Mosely or Brian has that crummy distinction that he never asked for? I’m sure you don’t. How long did you hide behind the BustaTroll name before you were exposed?
BustaTroll October 5th, 2014 at 09:34
I’d like to see documentation on that distinction, as I can’t find that any distinction like that exists. Not that it really matters. What really matters is that you are here, in the most non-constructive way, trying to make this about your son’s injuries and not about the issue at hand. The issue at hand is whether a low ranking Air Force retiree is qualified to consult on the issue of the ISIS threat the FBI and Homeland Security warned Congress about. If you’d like to debate that issue I’m happy to oblige. Something tells me you’d rather talk about missing limbs and who Busta Troll really is.
How long did I hide? I didn’t. Conservatives were simply too dumb to find me. I ran a page called Quote A Conservative, and that was no secret. If you went to the early days of the page you’ll see Christopher Blair commenting, taking full credit for adminning the page. I was also listed as the first like on the page. Dozens of liberal page admins knew who I was. My family and friends know who I am. It took some vindictive troll playing vindictive troll games to bring the ever so secret info to light. Right before the ‘news’ came out I changed my irl profile picture to Busta Troll, mocked the people who think I care about people having the same 1 in 316 million chance of bumping into me in the cover photo, and stopped using an alt profile. It’s such a pain in the ass to have to sign in and out with an alt anyway, dontcha think?
I’ve never been hidden. It’s Facebook. Nobody cares who I really am.
Brian Kolfage Sr. October 5th, 2014 at 09:44
Save face Chris. That’s all you can do now.
BustaTroll October 5th, 2014 at 10:22
Save face? Is that the issue we’re discussing? I could have sworn this was a disqus format, where we banter back and forth about a topic. I would have never guessed that you’d offer nothing intelligent to the conversation.
I don’t need to save face. I’ll say this one more time, and then I’m going to have to assume you get the gist. Nobody cares. I write stuff online. Who I am is irrelevant. My very ordinary life is of little interest. You’re mad at the troll, because the troll disagrees with your son. Rather than discuss it with the troll, you try to deflect attention to Christopher Blair and your son’s injuries.
Lets come to an agreement here and now. I will acknowledge publicly that you are aware that my name is in fact Christopher Blair, and you acknowledge publicly that I am aware of your son’s service and injuries and that I sincerely thank him for that service and sacrifice.
Then we can move on to why I’m online. Politics, What you’re offering me is silliness..
Anomaly 100 October 5th, 2014 at 13:58
What…what? Your name isn’t really Busta Troll? I had no idea. (wink wink)
William Skinner October 5th, 2014 at 15:11
Where is the proof that the DoD made this distinction? I doubt very seriously that such a document exists. That would be an unusual position for the DoD to take in any context, at any point in history. Please provide a link.
Max October 5th, 2014 at 17:08
From what I’ve read the distiction came from a comment a surgeon made. Not the Air Force or the DOD. Loosely quoted, “he is most severely wounded airman I’ve ever treated who survived”!

Nobody here is attacking anyone’s family. This is a discussion board and it appears that most have the opinion that the person in the article, who happens to be your son, does NOT have enough experience or intelligence to make such a reckless public statement. He should be leaving such statements to those who actually have access to intelligence for which they are basing their statement on. Your son has posted the article with his interview two times in the last 24hrs on his page alone. He’s actually misleading those who would take his word by trying to whitewash the concerns of the Army Threat Integration Center. Does he now have some inside information that leads him to believe this is not a credible concern? It appears there are many here that know all to well how the “lone wolf” operates whether they are far-right wing Americans or far-right supporters of ISIS.

I will tell you this senior and you can lie all you want because I know you care nothing for the truth. You can take me at my word or not, I don’t care. I know how this ends and it does not end with a victory for team Kolfage. Because I had a modicum of respect for Brian’s sacrifice that he vaporized with this despicable stunt, I thought I would try to sober you all up to what would actually happen if you chose the course that you did. Brian is going to lose everything in the end through civil judgement after civil judgement. That kind of stress causes a lot of relationship problems in my experience. Certainly if I had done anything then you all could easily add me as a defendant on your frivolous lawsuit. You can see how skeered I am of that happening. I will tell you this much Senior since you’ve obviously never taught junior this lesson, if you play with fire, you will get burnt and I intend to see to it that you learn that lesson as rudely as possible. Sorry Mr. Kolfage, your son isnt the most wounded in AF history. That title is already been takes my “Red” THE most severely wounded AF vet…………………..
Airman Second Class Clarence “Red” Mosley is the most
severely wounded Airman in US History. His is a story that inspires
Americans.
BiographyAirman
Second Class “Red” Mosley lost both his legs and both his hands while
during the Korean War. When he was on a dangerous mission the plane he
was in got shot down. The pilot sacrificed his life to save Airman 2C
Mosley.
Red had to survive for 5 days in the mountains of Korea
in -10 weather. He was declared MIA and assumed dead. Against all odds
he managed to survive and was rescued on December 9.
Unfortunately, due to his injuries from being shot and frostbite he lost both his legs and both his hands.
Never one to give up he made himself a noble role model and a character
citizen. He came back to the States and went on to meet the love of his
life, Ruth Shaw, and married her. They had two children and many
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Throughout his life he
was a celebrity, meeting many movie stars and famous people. He
continued to live and push through the negative process of all he had
lost, always being a positive role model.
Sadly he passed away on May 29, 2011. He is now enjoying the fruits of his works with his beloved wife and God in heaven above.
He is truly an inspiration!
Ren Rem October 7th, 2014 at 09:43
The only trouble is that, according to *official* military message traffic about the incident, SrA (Ret) Kolfage was wounded on Sep 10, 2004 – NOT on Sep 11, 2004. He may have been *awarded* the Purple Heart on Sept 11, but the date/time stamp on the message doesn’t lie – and the Kolfages have been known to lie when it suits their Radical REGRESSIVE agenda.
Brian Kolfage Sr. October 5th, 2014 at 07:52
Low Ranking Air Force Retiree? What Christopher Blair AKA BustaTroll failed to mention Brian was combat wounded 9 11 04 Balad Iraq. He took a direct hit from a 107mm rocket. Brian became a triple amputee on that day. His enlistment was cut short 3 years of a six years. Christopher Blair in usual fashion captured most of your attention with a headline that fails to address his service record.
rg9rts October 5th, 2014 at 07:54
Those that never served don’t understand the distinction…
Ren Rem October 5th, 2014 at 23:29
What distinction would that be? Kolfage has lied about being an adulterer, he’s lied about when he enlisted, he’s lied about when he was wounded, he’s told at least three different versions of HOW he was wounded, he’s lied about being a plagiarist – So tell this veteran, how does the fact of his *incidental wounding* (while serving as a customs inspector) make him qualified as an expert on foreign policy or military affairs?
rg9rts October 6th, 2014 at 06:24
Look it up
Ren Rem October 6th, 2014 at 13:59
I’m not one of those who “never served” and I’m not seeing any honor or distinction in SrA (ret) Kolfage’s story. Why don’t you explain it to *this* vet??

JG October 5th, 2014 at 17:08
From what I’ve read the distiction came from a comment a surgeon made. Not the Air Force or the DOD. Loosely quoted, “he is most severely wounded airman I’ve ever treated who survived”!
MimiLeBlanc October 5th, 2014 at 17:21
I’ve noticed the problems these people have with crediting sources. Probably took someone’s comment, threw quotation marks around it, and made it fact. SHARE SHARE SHARE.

They always say that.
They said similar things about EVERY POTUS… especially Reagan and Grenada AND even more so in the UK with Thatcher and the Falklands.
