Rand Paul Promises To Repeal All Executive Orders… Ever
“If you’ve got Rand Paul running on a ‘Let’s stop messing around in the Middle East because we’re getting killed, and it’s doing absolutely no good for us’ campaign versus Hillary Clinton’s ‘Let’s keep doing the same stupid shit we were doing before that you hated before’ campaign… If I was a betting man, and I am… right now I’d lay money on Rand Paul being the next president of the United States.”
Two things here. First, Cenk knows that Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) will win the next election, more than two years before the actual election will take place. Second, Cenk still thinks Rand Paul is opposed to military action in the Middle East. How sweet.
Here’s to hoping Cenk loses a pile of money wagering on this one. As we’ve covered numerous times over the years, Rand Paul is a flip-flopping mess, and probably won’t win the Republican nomination much less the general election. He simply can’t win — meaning, he’s unable to win given how conservative GOP voters will line up against him, and he shouldn’t win because he’d be a terrible president. In addition to being a political lightweight and an empty suit, Rand Paul promised to repeal all executive orders ever issued in the history of the United States.
I think the first executive order that I would issue would be to repeal all previous executive orders.
Yep, the knucklehead who… CONTINUE READING

I stopped listening to Cenk when he cheered on Rand Paul during his filibuster about drones. Cenk referred to progressives who didn’t back Paul up as bowing to their “Dear Leader.”

Repealing all executive orders by signing an executive order?!? Yes, it sounds crazy to us but to his know-nothing base, it’s perfectly logical.
Pilotshark September 17th, 2014 at 09:22
then right after that he will sign another EO putting congress on double secret probation.

Cenk speaks with a lot of confidence and people who are easily swayed will take his words as gospel as long as they support a view they currently hold.

Cenk Uygur is a former Republican, so it shouldn’t be surprising that he’d support Rand Paul. It’s unicorn progressives like Uygur who are the biggest enemies to the progressive movement.

So a theoretical President Rand Paul would issue an executive order repealing all previous executive orders?
President Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation was an Executive Order. On a more recent note, say good bye to American aid for providing medical supplies and drinking water to Palestinians in the West Bank, thanks to an order signed by President Bush and reissued by President Obama.
The right wing dumbing down of America continues unabated.

The Emancipation Proclamation is an executive order issued by United States President Abraham Lincoln during the American Civil War under his war powers. It proclaimed the freedom of 3.1 million of the nation’s 4 million slaves, and immediately freed 50,000 of them, with the rest freed as Union armies advanced.[

Don’t say that too loud, there is a segment of our population that would fully support the repeal of Emancipation Proclamation order.

Not the dumbest thing he’s ever said but it’s in the top five. What this country needs is a separation of State and stupid.

It proves Charlie Pierce’s 5-minute Paul rule…if Ron or Rand Paul seem to be making sense, wait 5 minutes. They will say something batshit crazy for sure

Anyone who believes this BS needs to be taken advantage of by Rand Paul. I have advanced degrees in history, political science, economics, and other subjects. You don’t repeal executive orders. From a political perspective, only laws can be repealed. Rand Paul should know this since he’s a member of Congress, but then again, he’s not the sharpest politician on the Hill, he just thinks he is.
If Rand Paul were ever POTUS, he’d abuse his power, for sure, because he doesn’t understand that an American president is not a dictator. I find it highly ironic that he has the nerve to say President Obama is abusing his constitutional powers when he doesn’t even understand what’s in Article II of the U.S. Constitution. If he did, he wouldn’t be spreading the crazy all over the place . As my dearly departed mom would say, “He’s a full of sh*t as a Christmas turkey.”
Much of the BS RP says he can do, he can’t, not all by himself, even if he were POTUS. A politician can replace one executive order with another one, but he can’t repeal sh*t. Anyone listening to Rand Paul and believing that he can unilaterally do the sh*t he says he can do are as ignorant of the workings of our government as he is. He needs to be studying the things he doesn’t know, but he thinks it’s unnecessary. He believes that if he thinks things should be a certain way, they are. RP as POTUS would be an unmitigated disaster because he wouldn’t govern according to the Constitution but according to his wacko beliefs.

Grampa Paul ran a dirty campaign. Uncle Rand used the same campaign manager to carpet bag his office. And now that campaign manager resigns from the McConnell campiagn when the dirt comes out that he could be facing 25 years in prison for it all after his own people ratted him out! Hallelujah! Aqua Buddha! Amen! Rand Paul goes to Iowa and says “Anybody here who’s not a sinner, raise their hand,”? Episcopalians don’t believe in sin, the ones I’ve known only believe in money.
