Since initial reports of a “dogpile” brawl involving members of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin’s family emerged last week via Amanda Coyne, nobody has been fleshing out the details of the incident like TPM‘s tireless Josh Marshall.

And he has spoken to yet another witness who is saying that Bristol Palin went medieval with her fists:

Roberta Thompson spoke to TPM by phone from her home in Alaska. Until now, her husband, Eric Thompson, has been one of only two people to go on the record about what took place at the Sept. 6 house party in Anchorage. (Eric Thompson has said he was later fired from his job for speaking to the media.)

The melees at that night’s party have led to an ongoing police investigation and reports that Sarah Palin’s husband and son were injured while tussling with other party guests before the family was kicked out of the house.

“It was just so shocking,” Roberta Thompson told TPM.

She mostly confirmed what her husband told multiple news outlets last week, saying that the two of them were right next to each other during the incident. But she provided her own take on how the events unfolded, including a portion that she said involved the eldest Palin daughter, Bristol Palin, and the owner of the house, Korey Klingenmeyer.

“What I saw was two girls run past and run towards Korey,” Roberta Thompson said. “And then I just saw Bristol Palin start punching him in the face.”

“It was quite, quite violent,” she added.

She said Klingenmeyer was clearly upset about what was happening but maintained his composure.

“She kept punching him and then he just said, you know, ‘You need to go,'” Thompson said.

Where does Bristol get the idea that it is acceptable to commit what looks like criminal assault? Did her reality-show-celebrity mom intercede at all? Well, Scott Conroy says yes — she was cheering on her rioting offspring:

So was Lee Harvey Oswald, come to think of it.

But I digress.

 

While Josh Marshall snarked late last week about a “White Culture of Lawlessness, Violence”…

“It’s something to hear when Sarah screams, ‘Don’t you know who I am!’ And it was particularly wonderful when someone in the crowd screamed back, ‘This isn’t some damned Hillbilly reality show!'”

… he was in fact on point. The entire Palin brood stands revealed as steeped in a culture of assault-friendly permissiveness pervasive among white Americans who reject reason, tolerance, and empathy in favor of promoting themselves as vicious animals, supporting torture as government policy and free access to weapons of war in our streets, and flaunting stretch Hummers as a symbol of status and power.

Bristol is just taking after, and adopting the violent values of, her lily-white mom.

‘Nuff said.

    My first time here. I am a firm believer in karma (just hope it happens when I can see it…and maybe it is!!) and I love me some schadenfreude -especially when it concerns that bag of bile I have loathed since ’08. I’ve read all the posts and I must say that I find CarpeDiem very tedious. Bless his heart (I’m from Georgia-we say that about the pitiful ones). I donated to the Gofundme for Eric Thompson. I suggest we all put our money where our mouthis and think of every dollar given as a big ol’ finger to that odious woman! Check out the Immoral Minority blog-he is an Alaskan that has been all over Palin since the very beginning.Peace!

      Respectfully, it’s a shame you’re also gullible and close-minded. Not that the opinions of anyone here matter. But if more people realized this before shooting their mouths off on the net, the net MIGHT be a better place. Lying about people because you irrationally dislike them says more about you. I speak sense, not from emotion.

You are entitled to your own opinion-as am I-but we are NOT entitled to our own facts. Truth is truth. I stated nothing but my, long held, opinion.

          No direct allegations I make are less than the truth.

          And any time I disagree with someone, it’s to point out how wrong it is to assert that something is true with no firsthand knowledge as I did with Katie specifically. Tell enough lies and hold enough false opinions of people, it’s bound to affect that “victim” emotionally. Though speaking of Bristol, for example, I’ve never actually seen her get upset over lies told about herself. I’ve seen her get upset when people trash and lie about her mom in humor. There is a difference between politically disagreeing and trashing, something MANY need to learn. But thank for commenting. I enjoy civil conversations that don’t go in circles because people don’t want to listen. :)

          The blogger you mention knows some of his past lies hurt the people he writes about, yet he smiles and does it anyway. What kind of person is that?

          Look at the people who tried to ruin Mr Thompson’s employer for no reason? It doesn’t matter if they are close to the Palins, if Bristol’s son is best friends with one of the littles. There was no excuse for trying to ruin them. Technically nothing to known as far as why the firing happened.

          Life’s too short to get huffy. Keep calm and run a mile is my motto.
